Volnation,
What moves on the team do you all see that could help us move forward.

My thought goes out to McNeil moving to LB. Remember him in high school being such a hard hitter. His speed would also seriously help.

Thanks

I am glad someone else thinks about this stuff when they first wake up! I would think we need McNeil to stay at safety. I just wonder where Justin King and Jalen Reeves-Maybin are going to end up. Linebacker? Downs might need to make the move to OL to provide depth. I think Maggitt will play MLB if AJ leaves. Also, where does Vereen end up? He would be a beast at LB, but we also need him at DE. The only other move I see might be someone at WR moving to DB.

Cro0m to TE is going to be talked about off and on as long as he's on campus.

Charles Mosley has natural charisma and leadership abilities. He's my choice to win the Qb battle.

The best moves I see are for the defense to allow fewer points and the offense to score more. Those moves will result in a reversal of fortune very quickly.

I believe Gaulden will likely be a safety and TKjr looks like he could be the real deal right away - so we may not need Mcneil as much there after everyone gets on campus

I think he is too athletic to keep off the field - he JRM, Dbates - a move there could add some serious speed to that LB core

I think we just need to focus on building depth which will allow us to run more exotic schemes and formations. McNeil at LB is a bad idea he's only 199lbs. He would get blocked to easily. His junior year is coming up and he had a sophomore slump he'll be fine.

On offense I can't think of any.

I doubt either of them start a head of McNeil at safety. They will push him for PT but won't start. While he had a slump he will bounce back this winter and spring. Year 2 in the system will be big for him.

Do we have someone coming in that can take a kickoff or punt to the house? It seems like FSU has always had one and last night they had a FR take one home.

Is Malone that fast?

Do you know how many people said something very, very similar when McNeil was a recruit headed in?

I don't know if he is. Usually it's about quickness as much as pure speed and usually it's smaller guys that have success in those roles (Cordarelle Patterson being a very notable exception). I would hope with all the receivers and defensive backs we've got coming in, that one of them could be a dangerous returner.

I did not say Mcneil was bad - in fact I think I said he is too athletic to keep off the field

that being said if (and its an if for any FR) one of the newcomers at safety is really good it might make sense to try Mcneil at LB

he is physical and it wouldnt take too much weight to make him a fit at OLB

he is just a guy I might toy with - certainly wouldnt give up on him as a player for us - just might try him at OLB and see if it might fit him better

He is 190.... You think adding 35+ pounds is no big deal?? Please stop.

Croom to TE. Pig to RB as a change of pace. JRB to linebacker. Coleman to nickel or bench depending on Payne, jones or another stepping up.
