Memphis was top 5 in assists last season.

I'll pray for you.[/QUOTE

They also ranked 264 out of 345 D1 teams in turnovers.
Very impressive numbers considering the fact Memphis played 19 pick up games within the conference.

There is no need to be upset. Memphis "assisted" on 62% of it's FGs last season. That's all you really need to know on the subject.

1. You said best shooter on the team. Nobody else...
2. I'm sure CCM didnt want to need McBee at the end of games, but he did do to lack of options. Im done.

I rarely remember McBee shooting FT's at the end of the game. Always, Golden or McRae.

It was just as likely McBee hit 2 ft's as it would be him getting trapped with the ball and either turning it over or having to burn a time out with the opponent's full court press. He was the worst guard we had at handling the pressure from the press. That's why he wasn't an option at the end of games.

He was the second or third best free throw shooter we had. So yeah, when Golden flaked it wa McRae then McBee. Pretty sure CCM said so on many occasions.

If McBee didnt have the attempts you need to see to call him a go to at the end of games, its because he didnt have the footspeed to get open to get the ball. Not becase he wasnt one of our primary options.

From what I found, the career numbers do not support your position;
McBee 2010-11 .882, 11-12 .839, 12-13 .840
Golden 2011-12 .828, 12-13 .778
McRae 2011-12 .759, 12-13 .771

McBee's worst season at the line was better than anybody else's best season at UT during that era.

When the other team is looking to foul at the end of the game when they are trailing, then any perceived lack of foot speed should result in one being easier to foul instead of harder to foul.

If he wasn't shooting foul shots at the end of the game it was probably because the other coach said "don't foul the dude with the crazy mustache" since they pay attention to statistics. Or if Colban is coaching "don't foul the token whitey".

Your position doesn't match up to the facts.

McBee had several games where he was clutch for us. Uconn last year sticks out. Their were a lot of games, Golden first option McBee second.

Check that, year before last Uconn was ranked 13th.

Edit: Clutch at the free throw line. good grief!!!

I jsut didn't realize his numbers were that good
Actually you nailed my position. I started by mentioning the UConn game as an example. He won that game for us at the line late. I just failed to put in my post at the line.

I agree that with the ball it makes it easier to foul a guy w/ slower footspeed. But coaches are reluctant to have players foul away from the ball because of the danger in it being called intentional. Just don'tsee away from the ball fouling often IMO

Your sample size is just a wee bit squewed. Sure McBee's percentage is higher, but shooting 25 ft vs 153 & 162. And throwing 2010 stats with 17 fts all year? Using stats like that, we could say Quinn Cannington was the best ft shooter on the team in 2009 during Skyler's freshman year because he shot 100% for the year.

When the other team is looking to foul at the end of the game when they are trailing, then any perceived lack of foot speed should result in one being easier to foul instead of harder to foul.

It not hard to foul anyone at the end of the game. Lack of foot speed makes McBee easier to steal the ball from on an inbound pass.

I'm sure most opposing coaches said that about Lofton also, but that didn't stop him from shooting 100+ ft a year to ice the end of games. The offense dictates who receives the ball, not the defense. There are offensive plays full of screens and picks to get Golden or McRae open. You are absolutely correct though. The opposing coach probably did say not foul the guy with the funny mustache if he gets the ball though. This is because the scouting report said that McBee was one of the easiest guards in the league to trap. No need to foul at all, because he would either turn it over or have to burn a time out.

There were reasons why Skylar did not have the ball in his hand at the end of games. It's not that he couldn't hit the shot.

Robert Hubbs is EXTREMELY underrated, he's going to surprise a lot of people.

That would be difficult to be underrated being in the top 2 in the state and a 5 star national recruit. I don't think he's going to surprise anyone unless they don't read.
