I did one of these polls back before spring practice started. It will be interesting to see if the consensus has changed since then.

Are you wanting to know who the game 1 starter will be? It's Worley.

Worley starts for 3 reasons:
1) He is a senior with the most experience
2) Last year he was playing reasonably well before being hurt
3) None of the other QB's have taken over as the Alpha male

Appreciate you starting a QB thread. Love the passion and arguments they typically lead to.

Sarcasm-meter is off today but I get what you're saying either way... honestly after all of the QB discussion we've had this off-season, I could care less about the dicussion in this thread. I'm just interested in the data :good!:

I'll go ahead and state for the record - there's no chance, barring injury, of anyone starting Game 1 ahead of Worley. Whether or not the starting QB changes during the course of the season is a different discussion, but this one is pretty clear cut IMHO :hi:

Worley can and should get the start. I hope that he starts out on fire and it lasts through the season.

Being sincere. No sarcasm intended.

I'll like to take the wait and see approach. A lot can change over the summer. Maybe one of these guys step up during the off-season

If we don't have a definitive starter this year expect another 5-7 season. If we don't see much improvement this season with the QBs CBJ might really want to consider hiring a QB coach.

I agree that Worley will be the game 1 starter. However, if he's going to be our guy, something is going to have to give. He either needs to improve on running the read-option, or we will have to run the option less. We can't run it with defenses knowing that he's going to hand it off every time. It's a wasted play at that point.

I think it is funny that everyone who said Dobbs/Ferguson ever since the end of the Kentucky game suddenly see what I (and a few others) have been saying all along. Worley starts. He is the senior with the most experience. He is the leader of the offense. He may not be the perfect fit for CBJs offense but he is the best QB on the roster right now. His arm strength and decision making is getting better and better. He starts until injured or completely botching games.

Worley starts and by year end it will be a toss your name in the hat and the guy that leads the TEAM best will finish as the starter.

He was getting Neal killed last year.

I still don't understand comments like #2. When ever would consider him playing well. He didn't even play well in the SC game

He ran it pretty well in the spring game. Which makes me worry about our defense...

I may be wrong but I think either HC or OC told Worely not to run because Ferguson was hurt and they had no confidence in any back-up..... it even showed up in the Vandy game when they just would not pass fearing Dobbs would throw another interception. Worelys QB rating 117.4, Dobbs 103.3, Peterman 042.5, Ferguson not rated. Worely sacked 6 times in 7 and 1/2 games counting Florida as a full and Bama as a 1/2 game. Dobbs sacked 7 times in 4 and 1/2 games counting Bama as a 1/2 game. Worely will start but I hope they have confidence in the backups this year.

It's difficult to attribute all the miscues in the passing game to solely the QB; we had young WRs that may have not been running as crisp of routes as they should. As fans we don't see the whole picture.

Worley hit his "stride" against UGA & USCe. He wasn't a world beater by any stretch of the imagination, but it was evident that he (and the WRs) had improved enough to at least not turn the ball over. Prior to those games, he was a turnover machine. He became serviceable and if he had not become injured, we would've won another game.
