I think it is funny that everyone who said Dobbs/Ferguson ever since the end of the Kentucky game suddenly see what I (and a few others) have been saying all along. Worley starts. He is the senior with the most experience. He is the leader of the offense. He may not be the perfect fit for CBJs offense but he is the best QB on the roster right now. His arm strength and decision making is getting better and better. He starts until injured or completely botching games.
There's no doubt that Worley is the most polished passer and leader of the group but at the same time if Ferguson/Dobbs are only slightly worse as passers, can add 30-50 ypg more rushing, and open up the rushing by making the defense actually respect the read-option that we supposedly run , then I say go with one of them.
Worley game one, but then Ferguson takes over soon thereafter. Dobbs is the odd man out.
Ferguson will become the starter after a few games. Has the strongest arm and is most accurate.
Peterman will start more games in his career as a Vol than Ferguson will!
Ok, we get it, you have an obvious favorite, but you're drunk if you think Ferg is the best QB. I dont know if we saw the same QB in the spring game but Worley and Dobbs look to be pushing each other with Ferg pullin a distant 3rd.
Dobbs looked good against a thin second string defense in one practice.
Based on the complete spring, Ferguson was spliting reps against the ones with Worley. CBJ knows his man for the future.
Which he did great in, correct? How many turnovers did he have? Against a weak 1st team defense?
I'll wait til fall to see how all 3 of our QBs do, but I guarantee you that Worley is the starter. The #2 spot is the only one open for debate.
