Whirlybird Worley starts but the Dobb Goblin finishes.
Not because the Whirlybird is deficient. Rather the defense
isn't holding and we need points, points, and lots of point.
The Goblin provides them and in quick succession.

He's coming. He's coming.

My bet is Worley (seniority/experience) but man would I like to see one of the more mobile quarterbacks prove themself, we need someone who can make defenses pay with their legs and not be so one dimensional. At least Worley ran in the spring game. Hope it's a sign of things to come.

I think it is funny that everyone who said Dobbs/Ferguson ever since the end of the Kentucky game suddenly see what I (and a few others) have been saying all along. Worley starts. He is the senior with the most experience. He is the leader of the offense. He may not be the perfect fit for CBJs offense but he is the best QB on the roster right now. His arm strength and decision making is getting better and better. He starts until injured or completely botching games.

Agree, the coaches want senior leadership .

Unless Worley gets hurt in summer or fall camp he is the man going into the first game of the season.

There's no doubt that Worley is the most polished passer and leader of the group but at the same time if Ferguson/Dobbs are only slightly worse as passers, can add 30-50 ypg more rushing, and open up the rushing by making the defense actually respect the read-option that we supposedly run , then I say go with one of them.

So you're the other guy on here (besides me) who doesn't loathe Ferguson and want him to transfer before summer semester. #solidarity

Worley game one, but then Ferguson takes over soon thereafter. Dobbs is the odd man out.

Ferguson will become the starter after a few games. Has the strongest arm and is most accurate.

Ok, we get it, you have an obvious favorite, but you're drunk if you think Ferg is the best QB. I dont know if we saw the same QB in the spring game but Worley and Dobbs look to be pushing each other with Ferg pullin a distant 3rd.

Peterman will start more games in his career as a Vol than Ferguson will!

Why the hate for Ferguson? Neither you nor anyone else has ever seen him so much as take a snap in a game. I don't know if he'll ever do anything in a UT uniform, but to come out and say that he'll never play a game before we've ever seen him is just ridiculous. Especially when Butch seems to be pretty high on him given that he was splitting team 1 reps with Worley the last week of Spring practice.

"But Dobbs runs so fast....sniffle sniffle...what are we gonna do?"

Lane and Hurd can carry the rock. Riley will spin it. Dobbs can build a rocket.

Dobbs looked good against a thin second string defense in one practice.

Based on the complete spring, Ferguson was spliting reps against the ones with Worley. CBJ knows his man for the future.

Which he did great in, correct? How many turnovers did he have? Against a weak 1st team defense?

I'll wait til fall to see how all 3 of our QBs do, but I guarantee you that Worley is the starter. The #2 spot is the only one open for debate.

Was actually doing well in Spring practice based on reports, otherwise wouldn't have been splitting team 1 reps, correct? He evidently is prone to trying to force some passes because he has a strong arm and inexperience since he's the only QB on the roster who's never actually taken a Gameday snap. He obviously needs to get that corrected to have a shot at playing this year or any year.

He had 2 turnovers in the Spring game. Had mistakes, had some nice throws, 7-12 for about 85 yds and a td as well iirc. At least you acknowledged he played quite a bit vs the first team D. Most Ferguson haters just say he sucked vs the 2s.

I agree that it's Worley's job to lose and I'm glad to see he's doing well. I personally am a big fan of Dobbs as well. I expect him and Ferguson to battle for 2nd team with edge going to Dobbs.
