What do you call failing to obtain something you really wanted but would be ultimately bad for you through incompetence?

Whatever you would call that, that is what it is.

No joke. When dumb asses say you're a liar or an idiot, it's good to remind them how wrong they are, and encourage them to do a little self-reflection.

I like to think of it as completing the circle.

Who cares? Selby ain't a vol. Never was.
Bruce ain't a Vol either.

Why are we still talking about this. "I told you so" went out of style in the 80's.

Wasn't there a pre-mutiny against Bruce by prominent posters to this board because UT "lost" Selby's commitment while BP was out of the country coaching the jewish olympics?

Seems like certain people were suggesting the fact that Bruce wasn't in pocket to at least try to talk Selby out ofi decommitting was a fireable offense back then.

In any event, many blamed Bruce personally for losing Selby. Is the consensus now that we dodged a bullet by Bruce "losing" the Selby commitment?

I'm just trying to decide if it's still Bruce's fault, or, was it divine intervention indirectly related to Bruce's jewish faith that we ended up losing Selby?

Hilarious.

I would love to see where hat rejoiced when we lost Selby. I know you can find my posts about his mom and $$$.

Could you blame him if that is the intent? When it turns out that I am right, I like to boast to the jackasses who tell me I am an idiot and follow me around, too.

Well, I see what you're saying, but it seems a little extreme to make a thread about it. It's really just the last sentence of the first post that makes me bring it up. I guess Hat did intend to rub some noses in it...

Plus, this kid didn't play for us. I've had threads deleted that weren't specifically about UT bball, but they were more relevant than this particular topic

Two totally different issues. Being off on a meaningless family vision quest while an open period for recruiting is going on is the height of arrogance and stupidity. I don't care who committed or decommitted during that time.

Talk about arrogance and stupidity. I think you have just taken that title with this post. I guess you were critical of Coach K and the olympics. Oh wait, that wasn't a game of the mud people was it Hat?

Josh Selby= the next Joseph Forte. Mark it down. And I would be saying that even if he came here. Bottom line is the kid is trouble. Give him a little money and watch what's going to happen.

Forte was 10x the college player Selby was.

The Olympics justification was always a good one around that time.

Are you trying to say there's a difference in coaching Tamir Goodman and Steve Pearl with a television audience of 14 and running the show with LBJ and 'Melo in front of a few hundred million viewers? Crazy talk.

Anti-semitic. IMO.

:eek:lol:

That may be the funniest thing you have ever said.

Oh wait, I forgot you predicted that UT would go to the Elite Eight
If Pearl would have wisened up and gotten Maymon on the floor, we might have returned.

We should have hired Lutz and stolen South Carolina's recruiting class. Now who will stand in the way of Florida's Final Four?
Now that Pelphrey is back on the Florida bench, there's no stopping them. A UCLAesque run is at hand.

The only things that could stand in their way are DePaul and the RPI hit they would take from scheduling Big 10 teams.

I don't have the need to create I told you so threads. I'd have to create 1 or 2 per day and wouldn't be able to keep up the pace anyway.
