Craziest first day in memory.

SEC was horrid this afternoon. My feeling of VaTech being overrated was confirmed.

Troy was fun to watch. CCU should have won. Arkansas has too many offensive problems

Smh, umps trying to give this game to Vandy. Bs batters interference call

Pathetic that such a call could be made in a regional. Most will look at the score and say it had no baring on the outcome and I disagree. The call kept the game from being tied and perhaps a Illinois lead. The pressure completely changes over to candy without that call. Game changing moment IMO.

Agree completely. Guess I'm likely stuck pulling for Louisville in a super regional now. Just don't see ga tech or Illinois being able to beat Vandy today and tomorrow.

Candy is in the clear this weekend. Beede won't win his super regional game IMO. They may exit next weekend.

What regional are they paired with??

The Louisville and Miami regional. Louisville beat Miami in a good game yesterday to go 2-0

Ok State is the other team remaining in that regional

Thanks. Louisville wins the super regional IMO. Beede can't throw enough strikes to win his game and Louisville has plenty of arms to match up with the rest.

Plus I think Louisville's familiarity with a turf field will be a help as well. You could see Illinois struggling to adapt to it a bit last night.

Doesn't illinois have turf as well??

Yeah, but according to the Illinois coach earlier in the week the composition of the turf are significantly different and there turf plays quite a bit slower. How true that I I don't know, just going off his comments

Going to ignore the fact that VU already beat Louisville in a midweek game? Louisvilles lineup was dominated by a freshmen in that game.

Vanderbilt also lost to MTSU and Tennessee Tech in midweek games. Midweek games are a crapshoot and don't mean ****.

Right. But just because Beede has ha 2 bad starts in 16 doesn't mean it's a foregone conclusion that he will be bad in the supers.

And Louisville does not have the deep pitching that Vanderbilt does.

Beede has had command issues all year. Those things have a way of catching up to you when the stage is the biggest. That happened last night and will again next week IMO

Admittedly I have not caught every Vandy game this year, but every time I have caught Beede pitch this year he has had a strike% in the mid fifties with the exception being 59% against A&M in the SEC tournament. That type of strike% is just asking for trouble against a good lineup.

Bama vs Troy has been a very good game so far. Actually seeing some good base running for a change

Nothing in baseball beats an elimination game in college baseball IMO. Including an MLB playoff game.
