Crazy night. FAU/UNC game might be best game I have ever seen! Not sure it's ever going to end

The espn coverage of the regionals hopefully did a lot to grow this thinking. TV can do wonders and I think this coverage will put more butts in the seats next spring. Compelling games without a doubt!

Bases Loaded was fantastic. I didn't even check it out until later on Saturday, but they did a fantastic job. I think there is some polishing up to do with how they switched from game to game and their in studio stuff, but for year one of it, it was just great.

Also, I was at the Nashville regional and FYI: iPad plus twitter plus WatchESPN while at a game is a great combo. We got to watch replays of all the close plays that you normally miss while inside a stadium.

Good idea, hadn't thought about that. Heading to Nashville this weekend and will probably do that.

Oregon had no business as a national top-8 seed as I think that worked out nicely over the weekend as they ran into the Rice buzzsaw and had no answer.

the huge Nike swoosh behind homeplate the entire series was disgusting and glad to see it associated with a program that was only restarted because of Oregon State jealousy.

That beign said, I don't believe NC State was worthy of a national seed either. I think Rice may continue to make soem so-called quality teams howl.

I also don't believe VaTech should have been a region host as they lost to a rather pedestrian Oklahoma team:


Fri/Sat/Sun:

South Carolina @ #1 North Carolina

Rice @ NC State

UCLA @ #5 Fullerton

Oklahoma @ #4 LSU

Sat/Sun/Mon:

Louisville @ #2 Vanderbilt

Indiana @ #7 Florida State

Mississippi State @ #6 Virginia

Kansas State @ #3 Oregon State


So Carolina will lose on road. May steal a game. They were so close to hosting.
Rice wins 2-1 (but a NC State/UNC game in Omaha would get some pub in Triangle)
Fullerton and UCLA may be best series
LSU will dispatch OU easily at Box.
Vanderbilt wins 2-0
Florida State 2-1 (weather this weekend may be a problem)
UVA cruises
Oregon State cruises

The Big12 will be unrepresented after this weekend
The SEC will get their seeded teams through.
The ACC will get three through but watch that IU team in Tallahassee

My heart is over flowing with joy!!


Tomorrow is where we see the lack of command finally catch up to Beede! That bullpen better be ready to save them if the onslaught of my biggest chokers in baseball history post are to be delayed for one more day!!!!

UCLA and LSU clinched their spots in the CWS last night. North Carolina, Mississippi State, Indiana, NC State, Louisville, and Kansas State have the chance to do the same today.
