I saw the article on Home page where Paul Johnson blamed the 2-pt failure on poor execution, but Taylor made the play and he fought off the initial block attempt by the RT, then got off the pulling C (I think) to tackle Marshall. So not sure what missed block (that actually mattered) he was talking about.

Well of course "formidable" is a relative term left up to interpretation in this case. Nobody on our current roster could lace Big John's boots.

The season is young and I am hoping the coaching will help us on the defensive front. We had a player step up and make a great play on the 2 point attempt. I hope we have other players now looking to get on the highlight reel. If we can stay healthy we could have some guys improve with experience. The next game we will see the young guys get a lot of reps.

From what I have seen he had drops his freshman year (supposedly playing with hand injury), but has been very sure handed since then.

We're going to be mediocre--at best--on defense this year. Our defense tackles are average, at best, and the same is true of our linebackers. And both of those units are thin. Tuttle will help a lot if he can come back and play at his pre-injury level, but that's a major question mark after two serious leg injuries. And there's been no indication that he'll be ready by Florida, has there? I doubt he plays against florida. Jones has recruited well--and yet we still don't have the requisite depth on defense needed to be truly stout.

I'll almost guarantee you he plays against UF, you obviously haven't been reading that he has been practicing and is looking good. I don't know what your talking about, all indications are he is ready. I highly doubt he will play little if any this weekend either, but that doesn't mean he won't be ready to go on the 16th. Were going to have a very good and exciting season. But if your willing to enjoy it is totally up to you. GBO!!!!

No doubt. He has some of the best ball skills and body control I've seen from a receiver in a long time. He also has great hands that just pluck the football out of the air effortlessly. Lets hope Monday Night was just the start.

If it had been prophesied before the game that Jennings would be lost, that would have been issued...Callaway's name would have provided zero relief. There might be other players perfectly primed to step up...Murphy comes to mind.

Even if Tuttle returns for Florida we won't have a formidable front with our current roster . They'll be remembered , along with Hoke and Shoop , as the defense that allowed the most rushing yards in program history .

That's complete nonsense. *Healthy Tuttle will make a HUGE difference. He ATE VT for breakfast last year (UF, too, if I recall correctly but definitely VT).

And no, this will be remembered as the defense that allowed the most rushing yards in program history.....and still won :)

You guys hating on the defense right now are gonna eat these words. This is GREAT defense. You'll see in due time.

While I've been saying that our defense is better than what Monday showed; however, we have a very slim chance to make it to the NC. We'll have an extremely successful season if we have 2 losses.

Just go ahead and predict we'll win the NC every year forward and tell us how elite our team is. Then when we fail, you can just blame it on the coach because he doesn't see the true talent like you.
