What type of injury is Williams coming back from? I don't know much about this guy.

I know Orta only plays during mop up time but when he plays, he usually pulls off a big play or two (pics, etc). Scrappy kid.

He was working on footwork drills when an errant pass from Worley to a wr 10 yards away hit him in the nuts

Sutton is going to be a stud. As far as Byron Moore goes though, as many times as he got burned last year I think that's a good thing there are others in front of him.

And those 5 picks last year to lead the SEC ... all just freak random luck, I'm sure.

You have to love Fulmer. He gave his all for Tennessee. We all have times that make us not feel as important but he truly gave his all. I hope that he can be part of our program again. He was an ambassador for us and continues to do as such in an unofficial capacity.

I'd say 1 out of the 4 was a good play. We basically handed you the others.

Yeah Worley's 2 INTs were just heave-up passes that he probably knew he shouldn't throw but did anyway out of desperation.

Peterman's last INT was just a dead duck due to a broken thumb. Not that it would have been completed anyway as the guy he was throwing to was completely blanketed.

I can't remember the other one.

good to the hear that CPF got a chance to talk to the team, from what i have seen of some of his speeches on you tube,i bet he had em fired up

Love that pre-UF 2001 speech on Youtube with those players getting psyched. Overstreet and Henderson looked like they were about to chew nails. Hehe, the post game aint too bad either.

I'm not sure who it was that sinned that week, but iirc, that was the last game before the curse fell on UT. Seven days later the wheels came off and it's been a downward spiral ever since. With a few exceptions along the way.

You're candid and you skirt condescension at times. Combine that with gator flair and there is why.
.

He's not skirting anything... he's just subtle.

I've been reading his posts for about 5 or 6 years now. It took me time reading one post after another and watching him engage others as well as myself to draw a conclusion.

some of that is on the reader.

the written word can be interpreted a lot differently than the spoken word. as an example, sarcasm is harder to detect when written as opposed to spoken.

the basic point in that thread was regarding poor safety play because of tackling and giving up the big play. the safety is the last line of defense and has to make a tackle to keep a 20 yard play from turning into a touchdown.

well, for the 3rd consecutive year, florida completed a pass thrown no farther than 5 yards past the line of scrimmage and it went 50+ for a touchdown because the personnel in the secondary did not make a tackle that should have been made.

so, i understand that i may come across a certain way at times or maybe all the time depending on who's reading the post. i get that and that's fine. however, no matter how it's written, there is a point that is being made that has some substance behind it.

You gators with your substances. Urban isn't there to cover that anymore, you know. (j/k)

Not arguing with the CP's report... but I would be very surprised if Coleman isn't a starting CB in the base D. I could see that being an effective nickel package though.

IIRC, Thomas possesses very good speed but was considered "raw". It may take a good bit of coaching to get good things out of him.

Speed was a concern with Orta from the start. Some folks thought he was destined for LB even then.

NEVER aruge with CP or his report!!

Worley's interceptions were (1) a ball thrown meant to go out of bounds (2) Last second Hail Mary

VQ has Coleman at nickel to put more speed on the edges in Williams (fastest guy on team) and Sutton and also an adept tackler at Nickel in Coleman as Toney and Swafford didn't have a single tackle against Florida.

Williams IS a Maryland guy, he's a former track guy who is a 'walk on' but made a lot of plays this spring.

Cheers

That was one I was a little shocked at. It did look like it needed a bit more zip on it to make it out of bounds. But was almost a perfect pattern pass.

The Hail Mary was one I personally didn't think was necessary other than to change the score on the boards. Wouldn't have helped at all, but at least he got it in the end zone lol.
