One of, if not the most infamous game in Vol history....

Nov 15th, 1969

"Archie Who?" buttons had been worn by some players and students that week.

# 3 Tennessee Vols (7-0) vs #18 Ole Miss Rebels (5-3)

Final score...

Ole Miss 38
Tennessee 0

And Jack Reynolds supposedly got his knickname after that game by taking a hacksaw and cutting his jeep in half because of the disappointing loss. Hacksaw Reynolds .... One of the great ones !!!

Agreed but we didn't show up thanks to a trouble causing linebacker who went on strike and played like **** likely on purpose on the defensive side
Pretty sure he got suspended for that game, which was part of the problem but I think the alleged "incident" (rumor was he got in a fight two days before the game) no doubt infected our D.

At the same time, there is a ton of evidence that Harbaugh gave S Car our signs.

I don’t know anything about S Car getting the signs but I’ve sure heard plenty say they did on this forum. My issue is, I haven’t heard it anywhere else. I’m not saying it did or didn’t happen, but I’d really like to see the evidence you’re talking about, or just tell me what the evidence is. I don’t even need to see it. I’m sincerely not being a smart-ass, I’m just interested in this if it’s true.

Conor stalions gave SC Tennessee and Clemson's signs before the games. Drew butler from The punt pass podcast was one of the sources that mentioned it.

its not a coincidence South Carolina was trash the whole year then all of a sudden pulled back to back top 10 upsets against teams Michigan were deep scouting.

Not to mention USCjr defense was wearing arm bands for that game. The only time they did and they did at home. I've watched that game a few times and you can easily see they knew what we were going to do on every play. TN and Clemson got screwed

I know some hate the Saban quote, but I think he is so right about trying to prevent his team from letting massive accolades saturating players' minds. I think it's a catchy phrase in the context of CFB, so I'm hooked.
Good post about staying hungry and focused. This football season has already seen some teams implode, and I hope this UT team has seen those and maintains its confidence in each other. GBO!

Tennessee could have waltzed right through them South Carolina fools if they didn't know our signals. Easily.

Scraping together 38 points wasn't the mo of the 2022 Tennessee offense.

No proof of that whatsoever.
So Connor didn't come to the Tennessee vs Kentucky game and steal signals in disguise? Why did all USC players wear wristbands on defense for the Tennessee game, which they haven't done before or since? ALL OF THEM wore signal bands. Were there is smoke, there is fire.
