Pre Dead Period ending Final Mock

Not questioning, Butch. I'm question those people, like the OP, that believe we're going to sign 30 some recruits. We will sign over 25 (I'm guessing 27) but it will be because of the blue and grey shirts, not in lieu of them. I also believe some current commits will be recruited over (like it or not)

30 is probably 1 or 2 too many, you are right.

28 is probably going to be the right number, I thought for a moment Paul meant we could sign 28 then on top of that BS or GS.

I'm just not sure!

Nobody knows but you guys all spend enough time trying to figure it out.

Will somebody please explain how we have three spots left (not including grey shirts or blue shirts)? Everybody agrees we can't back count.

Butch will sign 32… he will be able to forward count 7 if divided by 3 and then multiplied by the number of loses we have had outside of conference. If he counts the number of loses within conference then the multiple is 2.7, however there must also be a division of 1.9 per wins. Now if he only signs 29 there is the consideration that must be made for the SEC championship game attendance. I hope this clears up you question concerning this issue!

I hate turning away a good QB but personally I hate the idea of signing 3 quarterbacks. It is all but guaranteed at least one will end up transferring when they realize they've lost the job. Even if Jennings becomes a safety (which I don't think he will) I just don't like signing 3 QBs. I'd rather go after Sapp or harder after Newsome, although I think he is a lock to Texas.

You don't turn away someone like S Jones if he wants to be here because you're afraid someone will transfer. If one of them leaves we'll be fine. We will have Dobbs for 2 more years then the best of the 3, or maybe Kendall, will take over.

You take 3 QBs and hope you hit on one. If one of the others transfers then so be it but you have to find a QB, most important position on the field.

How many teams have taken 3 QBs in a class in the past decade? Can anyone think of examples?

How many teams only have 1 scholarship QB returning?

You take 3 and the best two will stay for the long haul.

What is so bad in that plan? You also may get lucky and keep all three and have 1 play another position.

Seems like a no brainer if you can do it.

Actually, it's 102,455, but the capacity is like our recruiting class-- expandable to meet our needs.

Well FSU has three committed currently I believe. That's off the top of my head. I've saw a few in the past because it is sort of rare but at the same time we almost had to do it with our situation.

Why decommit from UGA then? Allen was already heavily on the fence regarding whether he would go to UGA or not. That was before Bobo and Friend left UGA.

sometimes 18 year old football recruits make emotional decisions and regret them later, it happens
