Prediction for SEC Wins in 2013

I'm going to say 4-5. Mizzou, UK, Auburn, and 1-2 of Vandy, UF, and SC.

Despite our terrible D this year, we still had the Outback and Capitol One Bowl winners (SC and UGA respectively) and the Sugar Bowl contenders (UF) on the ropes; We'll be a better team next year despite losing the Big 3, and the aforementioned teams are losing a lot of talent on either offense or defense, or both.

The glass is half empty for way too many of you... I understand you may not want to set yourself up for another let down and neither do I; however, looking at things realistically, we at the very least have a chance to win some key games... I don't think it's very supportive to go ahead and chalk up every game against a team with a little bit of talent as a loss. Might as well say we'll lose to Western Kentucky too, while you're at it.

I think if we had any coaching competence on the defensive side of the ball at all last season we would have looked a lot different. I think we could have knocked off probably two of UF/USCe/UGA/MSU, handled Mizzou, and with a little more momentum, beaten Vanderbilt. I don't think this next season is as glum as everyone is making it out to be, because it feels like we have some coaches now.

With that said, anyone predicting four wins is an idiot, especially considering the last staff (or any staff in UT history) never had an 8-game losing season.

I agree completely with alot of this post. I don't think it is sugar-coating it to say that we were just a little competent coaching away from winning 3 more games last season. Of course, we won't know what level of coaching we have till next season starts, but all historical indications are that it is light years ahead of what we had. That being said, I believe we should beat UK (horrible), Mizzou (gave it to them last season), Auburn (second worst team in SEC last year), and Vandy (not sold yet, gotta prove they're here to stay)....and we have a chance to beat Georgia (losing alot of NFL talent, verrry depleted roster) or Florida (same reasons as UGA), but not both.

I was consulting my Magic 8 Ball and there should be 10 (TEN) SEC wins next year. That seemed like a stretch so my Ouija board was consulted and it confirmed the results:
8 regular season
1 vs TAMU in the SEC championship game
1 vs LSU in the BCS NC game

They're predicting total conference wins this season...UT only plays 8 conference games.

They're saying here UT only wins 4 of those 8 conference games, not that UT only wins 4 games overall.

He may have interpreted it correctly. For the folks saying UT will only win 1 conference game, that would suggest an 8 loss season.

4 ..... but I think we'll be closer than you think in a few others too.

We're going to be able to and actually committed to running the football and that's going to keep us in games.

I am seriously concerned about that western KY game! Great coach + it comes right after Oregon and before Florida! Tennessee should win I'm just don't like where it falls.
