It's all it ever comes down to. The big name brands and blue bloods that will bring the dough. Florida St,while obviously deserving being undefeated and all aren't going to generate the excitement and revenue.

Because they lost their best player for the season. Same thing happened to Cincinnati for the 2000 NCAA Tournament. They had been the dominant #1 team all year but national POY candidate Kenyon Martin goes down in the conference tournament and they get a #2 seed in the dance.

If this was Clemson and Dabo, it doesn't happen. If this is any other SEC schools but Bama, this doesn't happen..... Conference means nothing in this case as it was pure Bama bias and mental gymnastics by the CFP to put Saban and Co in

Texas is a huge national brand
Michigan is a huge national brand
Florida State is a huge national brand.

Maybe the only one that’s only “a very big national brand” instead of a huge national brand is Washington…and you’d be arguing that 12–1 Alabama should be in over them?

As this thing sorted it's way out, you were close, except that FSU got the boot and Bama got the nod. I think your logic was good. I mean, an undefeated team not getting in. Lordy Lordy.

Yeah but you won't have unbeaten Power 5 teams out. It is like March Madness, sure teams get screwed but none of those Bubble teams are going to win a National Title. If they were that good, they would be a #1 - #3 seed and not be on the bubble.

FSU has absolutely 0% chance of winning a National Title. No ones even arguing that, they’re saying yes, they are not one of the best 4 teams, but they deserve to be there regardless.

It’s such an asanine statement. It’s basically because we hate Bama. But I want to see watchable games myself.
