Well, I wasn't saying that we beat all 3, just listing them in highest probability of win.

LSU is gonna be tough at Death Valley at night.

Jennings is super easy to defend against. Stop the run when you can, you don't need a negative play every down... but if you can hold LSU to no or limited yardage on either 1st or 2nd down.... force 3rd down.

Jennings has a nice deep ball down the right sidelines usually to Dural.... so what... give one or two of those up and stop the run.

The only thing Jennings is capable of is, deep ball down the right side and naked roll out with an option to pass to the FB.

I would go man-up just about every play.... force the throw... they get a big play... do it again... the key is stop the run at least on 1st or 2nd down.

Therein lies the rub....

True, but the scheme to defend is still about as easy as it gets. There really is no need to put a safety in the middle of the field, Jennings can't and basically won't throw it there. There is no real reason to have a safety playing over the top on 1st and 2nd down.... if Jennings does throw it, its going to be outside either down the sides or to the FB.

Man coverage, no safety help at all on 1st and 2nd, if you get burned once or twice tell the CBs to keep at it. Kentucky should have at least 1 or 2 extra guys that can't be blocked in the box on 1st and 2nd.... take the couple long competitions with a grain a salt.... LSU can't move the ball with a medium distance passing game.

The above is with Jennings, Harris can throw it anywhere on the field. Jennings really only does one thing well... deep ball down the right sidelines where the safety can't get the ball.... let him have it... shut everything else down and LSU basically goes into shutdown mode.

Of course, if you can't stop the run with 1 or 2 extra guys in the box.... its going to be long night anyway... but scheme wise there is nothing to this.

Well, time to see where we all went wrong.

LSU: Predicted 3-4 losses ended up with 4, with the killer being the Bama game. Where my prediction was probably wrong was that I thought the defense would be stronger at the beginning of the year, the bad MLB play and two young inexperienced DTs. Beckwith, first year playing MLB came in after the Auburn game and it really improved the D drastically. LSU played borderline bad D at the beginning of the year, by the end of the year they were playing lights out.... possibly the best in the country.

They allowed the following after Auburn game.
Florida 27pts
Kentucky 3
Ole Miss 7
Alabama 13 (in regulation, 20pts OT)
Arkansas 17
Texas A&M 17

Now where I was suspect on the offense was the QB after last years bowl game, Jennings makes Jordan Jefferson look like an All-Pro. The offense I felt got better running during the course of the year, the WRs are very young but talented, the one thing LSU needed was just average QB play... which it didn't get.

Overall, not a bad season other than the Bama game, considering 11 juniors went to the NFL early. LSU might have a window if their are not early lots of juniors leaving and they find a QB to be a contender next year.

Tennessee:
I predicted 4-5 losses. Ended up with 6. I thought there was a little more edge to the young team in the beginning of the year that was lost.

I thought the offensive line was the clear weakness of the team. I thought the Vols would do better, further considering how far the East has slid over the last couple of years.

Still a very young team, I think Butch needs to bring something to table next year though.

Biggest Disappointment: SEC refs, they are horrible, its to the point of why bother playing. The amount of bad calls, missed calls, and WTF moments are beyond anything I have seen watching football... its pretty much the norm.

I'll toss out a prediction you upset Louisville and MSU to go 6-6. I think the Cards are overrated personally and got their ranking from the hype surrounding Petrino and what they did last year.

Call me crazy, but I'll eat crow if it doesn't happen.

But it was way closer than anyone imagined.

Prediction: 5-7. I think we can beat all our out of conference opponents and beat Vandy. We have a shot at Msu and mizzou too. I think the losing streak vs UF continues and we get pounded by UT before beating Louisville.

Pretty close imo. We definitely should have been competitive in most of our games, because the sec was so bad this year. Outside of LSU and UT, we were competitive in all our games.

There's nothing much Kentucky could do when they were giving up 40+ points a game the last 5 games. I think Mike Stoops will be on the hotseat when UK wins 4-5 games in 2015.

Mike and Mark are going to do the subtle switch-a-roo and hope nobody notices.

Bama:

Bad - the shifting status of the QB situation. But more concerning than that, for me, is the cornerback spot. The coaches never settled on a permanent starter opposite Belue last year. Now that Belue is gone, Bama is going into the WVU game starting two converted WRs at corner. This does not instill confidence.

Good - the running game should be fine.

Prediction - I've been predicting one loss all offseason. I'll stick with that.

Pretty much nailed it.
