You know my feelings about that word. Lots of stuff can happen between now and March, good and bad.

To be only 2 years out from Pearlgate, and back in the dance, UT fans should be very satisfied.

Can the same not be said for every team, you seem fixated about our 10/11 guys...do most teams not have that issue?

Martin wants to play 8 guys that's it...so why should we tamper expectations because of chance of injury, but no other school should?

I'm missing something.

I honestly got a chuckle out of that. THIS is why I come here.

Lol you do bring done good info. Just don't understand why you feel the need to make posts like that when its obvious its a jab that we shouldn't expect to have an above average team.. We have high hopes this year and a 9 seed in the tourney will mean a disappointing season for most of us.

Some folks just can't help but be negative. And don't use logic, like Stokes arriving after those games, it just confuses people.

We should have beaten those teams without Stokes.
There was a lot more going on last season than most people realized.
The media was reporting, players had bought into Martin's system when more than a couple had not.
Hence, as accused, you saw Martin sitting with his arms folded watching them lose their way.
Martin pretty much admitted it after the AP loss.
We tried it their way, I think were his words.

It's not a jab at all. I was trying to be nice.

Don't let a good season be ruined by expectations.

A tourney birth is definately not a bad season. But idk if I will consider it a "good" season if we slide into the tourney with an 8 seed. Maybe my sights are set to high but I see a lot of promise in CCM.

I appreciate it. And honestly, you are 100% correct. The problem with fan bases (especially in basketball) is things are so easy to get turned around so you just naturally start expecting things. It's a compliment to Martin to hold UT to such standards so quickly because he's done fantastic so far. Given everything that has happend so far and the turn around we seen from last years team from beginning to end, I would be really dissapointed in a 9 seed but making the tournament is a blessing.

Well said. A 9-seed would mean we were either screwed by the committee, or we lost some games against opponents I feel we should beat, all things being equal. There is nothing wrong with high expectations, as MC said, so long as you realize that a 4-month season is fluid and expectations can change with circumstances.

I hate UT but there is no denying they will be very good for the next few years, this team will be good and CM is bringing in talent to restock.

UT's basketball program has been more relevant than their football program for a few years now.

Yeah. I was kidding. I hate UK as well but love basketball and still give them props for what they do. In all honesty, UT always plays UK decent and I expect nothing different this year. I really think UT can beat Kentucky but it's hard to guage what the Cats will do every preseason because they always reload. Cal is either an excellent judge of talent or he's been the luckiest guy in terms of basketball because I'm still waiting for a couple of those 5 star bust to happen.

UT will be especially tough at home next season. I think there is a very good chance they don't drop a game at home this year.
