President Bush's Farewell

Very good speech. Perhaps one of the best he made while in office.

I thought it was positive and upbeat. Very classy in his well wishes to Obama.

He made a comment about some decisions he had to make, that weren't popular. Saying he hoped he would get credit for making the decisions. Now that they are getting Obama clued in on the state secrets. He has even stated, "I realize now, that President Bush had some very tough decisions to make."

I think as time goes on. History will give Bush credit for them too.

I enjoyed it and I thought it was one of his best speeches. I'm in the minority when I say I still support the President and still admire and respect him and his service. Not too many politicians would stand by their decisions when their popularity took extreme hits like he did. I won't lie, I am a Republican but that isn't why I supported George Bush. Anyways I would like to say good luck and God Speed Mr. President, you've earned your retirement.

I am sure he will be vindicated in the future for his decisions.

I am saying he has been able to speak more freely and clearly. He has defended his decisions more than he has in the past.

thanks for the clarification....just making sure

If W had spoken more freely over the past 4 years we might not have BHO as President Select

remnd me please of a weak president who spent his final days beating himself up about his presidency. They all do what Bush is doing today. It's legacy building and it's worthless. History will be the arbiter.

If only Fulmer could have been as contrite as Bush... but it wasn't in his nature. (sorry, wrong thread)

I'm excited that he finally gets to join the ex. Presidents on SNL's TV fun house.

that was the main problem with Bush. he never responded to any of the daily hatchet jobs the media printed. if they would have done that i think his approval ratings would have been higher and it would have help people better understand what they were doing. he was a good leader but couldn't communicate.

that's silly. It wouldn't have changed a single thing and he would have been playing into the hands of the idiots. Obama will be wise to do the same.

he could have layed out his objectives better and help fought the bias against him. i know it wouldn't have stopped the papers from lying about him but at least it would have been on record.

Hussein O doesn't have to worry that. he's going to get a free pass with the media.

I never have understood the point of showing an election map. What does it prove other than what we already know, less people live in rural America. Are you suggesting country folk should have their vote count twice or something?
