Serious question, LG. What Congressional Mandates is he dismantling? Many of the agencies he seems to be downsizing appear to be agencies that operate under the Executive Branch. USAID, for instance, is funded by Congress, but it was established by Executive Order. Executive Order is enough to "dismantle" it, regardless of Congressional funding. Similarly, Congress can refuse to fund whatever "new" agency the President establishes. (Looking at you, DOGE.) Of course, if people volunteer to be advisors to the President, well, so be it; he is entitled to his staff.

As I have said many times, Congress needs to legislate, not the Executive. If they did their job, the President wouldn't be able to stop them from doing what they wanted to do. If they did their job, they'd be able to stop the President from doing what they don't want him to do.
