President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

When you do, you'll see that he's the first being censured for this, at least from what I could tell. Again, are we censuring everyone that does this or only guys on the other side of the aisle?
Were the others kicked out of a Presidential address or did they shut up after they made asses of themselves? Rep. Green could have simply sat back down after being asked to do so, but he chose to make a show of it.

The Supreme Court seems to think so. Hate speech is free speech, as bad as it is. It has to cross a line into calling for violence, basically. There's a line between "I wish these people were all dead" and "Let's go get this people and make them dead." Both abhorrent, one non-protected speech. Schools can't limit things because we don't like what they're saying. The targeting of schools as if they have a choice in the matter is silly. I wish nothing but the worst for anyone doing any of the speech mentioned there, but unless it runs afoul of the law...it's protected speech.

Not if they are selectively enforcing behavioral standards and not if the schools are selectively prosecuting.

The targeting of schools as if they have a choice in the matter is silly.

That isn't what this is about in context, see video.

I don't think that was the question posited. Actually first as a "student" can a limit be set? The right to say something as a citizen doesn't necessarily mean you get to remain a student at "school x" and do so.

Mostly I think the question was regarding would identical speech be treated differently if it was carried out by a different party. If so that would seem problematic.

Nice try to move the goalposts. Those roads are allocated (built) because they're in an economically lagging area. There's no way to justify their construction other than economic development. Since you mention it though, mainly the needy will access them.
Oh jwells moved the goal posts on this many posts ago.

This was never about roads, or emergency services, or economic development - which are to the benefit of All.

This was about cutting checks to individuals, for their individual benefit, According to Need.

School speech codes have been attempted for decades and have generally been struck down as content based restrictions on speech.

Thanks, I wasn't certain about how that worked. Is there a difference in this regarding "public" vs "private" schools?
I would need to go back and double check this for accuracy but off the top of my head, I think a private school that accepts federal funding has to comply with the 1A, the same as a public school, but a school that does not accept federal money, like Liberty University, does not.

My high school accepted federal funds and damn well prevented my free speech. If I cursed, called someone a name, or didn't address my teachers respectfully... They also prevented my freedom of expression. No Iron Maiden or Spuds McKenzie shirts.

That's what I intuitively thought would be the case but wasn't sure. Thanks for the feedback.

The Corrupt Orange.

I know a lot of Republicans that are great people. They are not hateful or racist. They can't hold a single factual conversation about politics though. They have clung onto the Republican party for 1-2 simple lies. They think R means less taxes for them (lie). They think R means good-hearted Christian (lie). They think the government is corrupt and lying because of the Democrats (lie).

A good amount of those 78 million blindly voted for R when they did not pay attention to politics essentially their entire lives.
An overwhelming majority of them chose to be ignorant or ignore the simple and awful truths about this man and this party.

I will certainly acknowledge that not 100% of these people are racist or hateful. But 100% of them chose to not draw the line at being hateful or being a racist or being a rapist or being a compulsive liar.. they all decided that those things do not matter to them or like I said above, decided that they didn’t want to pay attention to these things.

I think many of us read that post and very quickly figured out why none of them can have a conversation about politics with you.

Remember when you were still trying to convince people that you were a “Republican”, back when you first started posting under this handle?

Good times, Tull.

It's almost like we had the head of a major party who had the policy of "agree with me or I will ruin your career".
There is no room and certainly no acceptance of competing ideas.
No. Biden said "agree with me or I'll try to throw you in jail for the rest of your life on a whole slew of fake charges and cases."

The Democrats had horrible candidates w/no message but hate Trump & keep abortion.
No vision for America's future. Wide-open borders & keep lawless sanctuary cities open. No accountability for their corrupt policies & keep spending money on liberal programs that divided the country. Calling conservatives nazis & racist at every turn for just disagreeing w/you wasn't very smart over a 4 year period. I could go on. Not sure what "lie" you say was the reason 77M voted for the Orange man..

How have schools gotten away with restricting speech in the past?
There have certainly been instances of schools expelling students over speech.

I think there is probably little doubt as to what would actually happen if a couple students paraded through the Harvard Commons cloaked in white hoods, advocating for the forced removal of black people.

Lefty can't steal enough of your money.
I guess I’m just curious what various people think the top marginal tax rate should be…., or do they think someone making over X amount should be taxed at a a flat rate of 25, 35, 45, 50 percent?? Are they wanting to do away with marginal rates all together?? Seems we can never get answer. The real answer is because of the multimillionaires in Congress that aren’t about to pick their own pockets, marginal rates will likely never go away and the top marginal rate will likely not change by more than 2-3%.
