President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

A Tesla commercial by the President at the WH. And people wonder why Trump is a laughingstock throughout the world. Little Donny and Elon are big mad at those "illegal boycotts".
Promoting Tesla or any product while president is not what any of us should want.

It's not hysterics to point out things that are actively happening.
You don't *like* to hear that your guys are doing bad stuff.

It's also not illegal to be an antisemite. Deplorable...but protected speech. It's not illegal to be a mouthpiece. Don't agree with his views, but...free speech.

Trump was clear as to why this guy was arrested.

Again, I don't agree with the guy, but we can't arrest and deport people because we don't like what they say. Unless the government has a compelling argument beyond what Trump (the government) has said...they're simply trying to deport him for not being nice to Israel.

When we talk about weaponizing government, this is it. It should not be partisan to be concerned about the government trying to silence free speech.

If you openly support terrorists, you openly support violent uprisings, and you’re not a legal citizen, yes we can 100% deport you.

Weaponizing government is intentionally misreading the constitution so you can flood the country with people who hate the country. This is called proper correction.

Trump pitching a hissy fit.

I don't like his policies, but Massie is an actual fiscal conservative. They are a dying breed.

It also takes some political courage and fortitude to be a House Republican right now and defy Trump. Everyone knows how Trump gets vindictive and petty on social media. Massie stuck to his guns (figuratively speaking - I remember his silly family Christmas pic).

I keep hearing that Trump is a loyal person. Massey was one of the few people that stuck with him through some dark times in his first administration. I guess it’s considered loyalty to try and have one of your ardent defenders “primaried” for having principles. Someone needs to take his phone.

It remains to be seen how the 80,000 layoffs at the VA will impact healthcare and benefits. This represents a significant restructuring. It's the kind of thing you have to see in practice before determining who is right.
A lot more to VA Healthcare than giving shots and cough syrup. Scheduling community care, evaluating claims, making GI bill payments etc. I can't see how reducing staffing (many who are vets) can't affect healthcare

Will I find the same thoughts from you about Massie when he’s causing government shutdowns with democrats in charge?

I’m normally in the side of shutdowns, but this administration has shown more willingness to try to cut spending that any administration I can recall. I think it would make way more sense to support them if you want less government spending

Something tells me it wasn’t 80k nurses, PAs, and doctors. If so, I imagine there won’t be an impact. The number of administrators across all organizations has become insane

I’ll be honest, I don’t even know what “scheduling community care” means. Not sure making payments actually requires any labor at this point in time

I wonder if the VA is an idea which is no longer needed? I don't understand why vets can't seek covered care at non-va facilities and be covered like a Medicare-type program.

You are well aware of the administrative bloat in Healthcare. Can't imagine VA has less bloat than private.

For the sake of our veterans, I hope so. However, DOGE isn't exactly batting 1.000 when it comes to separating essential personnel from bureaucrats.

In 2021 ChampVA was six months behind in processing applications. Today they are still six months behind after hiring 100,000 people. The healthcare I get is great! The bureaucracy to get anything done is a nightmare from hell. The whole management system needs to be thoroughly redone. I have been getting care from the VA since 2011 and have a pretty good feel for what is happening. I appreciate your concern but they have some serious bureaucracy issues and just throwing people at it has done no good.

And even if it’s not bloat and these are necessary positions, it can likely be subcontracted out at a much cheaper rate without having to worry about fat government pensions down the road

Is that an actual possibility for anyone? Do you think Biden, Obama, Bush, or anyone working for any one of them knew the specific number of employees every organization needed and made sure we only had that many?

Or can we agree that it’s reasonable to cut jobs and then rehire if you realize you cut too many?

Sounds like we need to outsource it to Canadian public health.
