President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

Well thankfully I don’t wait tables. Pepperjax would suck at that.

**** I've been considering picking up a couple of bar shifts here in town while I finish my cybersec stuff. I'm one of those maniacs who enjoys getting my ass kicked behind the stick.

There are a few places here in Knox where 2 shifts will be 800-1100. No joke.

My wife owns a restaurant and I truly admire anyone that thrives in that industry. Especially in Knoxville because everyone eats too phkn much and the competition is tough.

I will say I'm happy to be out of the ownership game. Friends became partners and subsequently became people I now resent the **** out of.

If I ever revisit a role like that it's gotta be sole proprietorship.

It's got to be a tough industry. Good food is expensive, and the margins have to be tight. I know profits are in alcohol.

I love a great meal, but it's gotten to the point that dinner for the family with a couple of glasses of wine pushes the $250-500 range. And that's in Knoxville. I can cook a damn good dinner for a lot less than that.

Example: 1 pound of jumbo lump crab from Costco, maybe 10 bucks of filler (a little higher here due to my wife having Celiac disease), and we had crab cakes all around for $50 last night.

I'm with you. I generally shy away from the fine dining joints here and save nicer outings for when I'm out of town.

However, I love frequenting places that just serve damn good food. Yassin's, Good Golly, Potchke, Che Guevara, Sticky Rice, etc.

Working in the industry as long as I have, I don't really care about being seen, atmosphere, or hospitality.

Though I'll never shy away from popping into Lilou or Brother Wolf so the homies pour me secret service industry shots for 5 bucks.

Great choices for reasonably priced good food. And the owners of the spots you listed are solid.
