Watch the gov numbers for GDP growth..which supposedly discounts inflation. If GDP growth doesn't hit 10+, we are in a recession. Yet they will spin it as much as the jobs number.

Honestly, that is a really low approval number. Normally the partisan numbers for Presidents in the same party in polls like this are in the 70s, at least, if not consistently in the 80s.

That Obama was liked more ? A better orator , more refined , the first black President , like most community organizers , he learned to be blend in well In government and didn’t go against the main actors ? I’m sure I could think of other examples but those will do .

I'm trying to say that the 56% number is telling. Normally, democrats will approve of a democratic President's handling of a situation in the 70s or 80s at the very least (same for Republicans approving of GOP Presidents).
