President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

We have all lost.

We all won because Democracy prevailed. Unless of course you believe that a POTUS staying in power against the will of the voters is a good thing, in which case there are plenty of other Countries you can move to and live under that type of rule.

Not what I'm getting at, we all lost because of the stupidity of the electorit.

:) Lol ... the dummy POTUS popularity w/the American people today is so low they quit polling.

It's true some of the 'green' energy solutions are worse for the environment than what we have today. I think most of those pushing those solutions don't know the details and are just on a political bandwagon. So they're dumb. I'd still prefer to keep pollution levels as low as practical.

I guess the first question is which group is more gullible?
Those who thought the election could be overturned?
Or those that thought a couple hundred unarmed people rioting the capitol was an attempted overthrow of our government?

Then the second question is, which gullible group is larger??

I think most everyone would agree with that. My problem with so called environmentalists is most are single issue and don’t even understand that issue.

Just saw a map earlier projecting rolling blackouts over 2/3 of the US this summer. This idiotic administration is trying to bring in the Green New deal early. Problem is, we don’t have Green power generation in place yet to pick up the slack from shutting down conventional means.

Biden Tells Kimmel He Has Hope For The Future Because Of All The ‘Biracial Couples’ On TV

President Joe Biden told late-night host Jimmy Kimmel that he has hope for the future — at least in part because of the number of “biracial couples” that he sees on television.

“I’ve never been so optimistic in my life, though, and I’ll tell you why,” Biden began.

“Why are you so optimistic?” Kimmel raised his voice dramatically. “It makes no sense.”

“No, it does,” Biden insisted, adding, “Look at the kids! Look at the young people — best educated, least prejudiced, most giving generation in American history.”

But then Biden appeared to lose track of the direction he’d been traveling, and began to talk about “biracial couples” in television commercials.

TN Ribs loves it all so much & will vote Democrat again when time arrives.

Fine. But Clay doesn't do a good job of disparaging masking and vaxxing when he attacks a guy that's done it by the book and has remained clean, while he has been overly cavalier and got has got smacked around twice by COVID.

N.B. He also claimed he didn't need a vax because he caught covid once so he couldn't get it again. Whoopsie.

You’re making this about Clay Travis. But haven’t you noticed how insincere the most ardent supporters of mask mandates? I’ve lost count how many have the masks on for the cameras but take them off when they think nobody is recording.

How do you continue to push this nonsense with a straight face?

I think it’s pretty obvious which one is larger, after all they are 81 million strong. Now the real unredeemable ones, are the ones who will enthusiastically vote for more of this. They have no hope and belong in a straight jacket

Man, those crickets are loud.

Clearly he doesn't know what's going on around him. I just went to Wal Mart and priced a generic dozen of eggs. The same eggs that were once $1.75 are now $2.50.

Bird flu and evil, greedy oil moguls causing that ... not joe's fault ... probably some Russian complicity, too. Give it a few weeks and dems will be crowing about keeping you safe from cholesterol because you can't afford eggs.

Dems are going to play the gun control issue for all it's worth right up to the elections. They've got to know that the nonstop ranting on the news is going to pull copycats out of the woodwork - especially by leading them to believe they won't be able to buy some or all guns in the future. In essence dems and their MSM advocates are drumming up more shootings to give the dems a shot in November. Gotta keep creating problems and divisions.

Our imported gang issue in Chattanooga has now become kids dying from mass shootings.

Some of our regular posters totally believe January 6th is more important that inflation or food shortages

In a way 1/6 is more important than inflation and food shortages. People went to DC and tried to force legislators to actually listen to what they had to say and were rebuffed. They were stopped by capitol cops, and the legislators went into hiding. Both seem contradictory to the First Amendment:

the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances

The old saying is that it takes two to tango. The discord might not have been a thing if the legislators had simply agreed to listen and not use force to block the people with a message. The First Amendment says there will be access; congress says there won't. Who is to blame - congress or people wanting to deliver a message? Perhaps if congress has some respect (even a little fear) of the people, they would act differently.

I doubt you felt that way when Trump was in office.

We all keep losing because we're ruled by two political parties more intent on staying in power than serving the American public. Our government is a mockery of what it was intended to be.

Remember, they have kids and some have great-great-great-great grandkids. The apple usually doesn't fall far from the tree.

Maybe we should decide that people to the on the left side of the intelligence curve (or maybe just to the left side of the curve) should be banned from the US gene pool. Might have made a lot of problems go away if we'd put that into effect decades ago - at least 81M problems.

And jpmorgan is warning you out in the open even though they are part of it. How thoughtful.

Investor panic is what makes dump and pump work. The pump and dumpers need you to dump to crash the market ... after they have sold at the top. Dimon is just slicker (and wealthier) than most of the market drivers.

That doesn't even address the real problem which is how do you generate electric power when the "renewables" aren't working - like solar at night and on cloudy days. It's expensive to keep reliable power sources idling while renewables completely unbalance the issue of reliable power to meet 24/7 demand. Every solar megawatt delivered to the grid destabilizes the concept of a power grid meeting the electric power demand. It's somewhat analogous to the issue of car mileage on the open road vs city driving - all that starting and stopping disrupts efficiency and costs money - think of solar power as red lights and stop signs to a stable power grid.

Only if the solar power is enough to turn off the fossil fuel plants.

I have always heard the benefit for solar was here in the south where cooling is the major power draw.

When it's hot, there is sun. The solar supplies extra energy to a grid stretched by its worst case demand and you decrease brown outs.

Personally, i am for overlapping/integrated systems rather than the relatively solo dumb system we have now. It helps decentralize power creation, and the overlap helps deal with fluxes and peaks.

Somewhere like california they may be able to get a pretty high solar power ratio. Up north pretty low. But you can add wind, hydro, geothermal, nuclear, to mix and match the scenario. Just the fact that we rely on a consumable based energy source never made sense to me. Diversify and decentralize power creation to be less vulnerable to whatever situation.

I find myself having nothing but disdain for most politicians. We have a former politician who lives on our street. She just rubs me the wrong way 70% of the time.

A mix is OK as long as it's a stable mix. The thing about solar and air conditioning is that it only matches part of the day. When the sun goes down so does solar energy, but buildings and the surrounding environment have heated and retain heat that still has to be removed after the solar generation is offline - same kind of thing in the mornings when solar is up and running and our surroundings are still cool. Where you can really get some decent nature generated relatively constant power might be ocean tidal power, but there's a lot of transmission loss if you go beyond just the immediate area.

The best course if we are really bent on renewable energy is nuclear power for baseload and natural gas for peaking (or demand matching). NG for electric generation is relatively cheap from a capital investment standpoint, but the NG gas competes with home demand so homeowners are going to be screwed by unregulated price increases. The cost of non baseload power is expensive because the plant has to be staffed and running at reduced load and ready to ramp up to meet demand; so except for fuel, the cost of generating say 20 MWhr is going to be somewhat the same as generating 100 MWhr ... and fuel may not be the greatest cost in the equation - I don't have numbers to argue there except to say that Operations and Maintenance costs (O&M) have been a lot more significant than first envisioned for nuclear power.
