President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

Better than the last doesn't mean much. Given how the first 4yrs played out there's a bit too much optimism this time around. Those who are way too excited have to ignore a whole lot to get to that point (or they're just idiots)

The problems were hidden, the problem goes back to probably Reagan. No, Trump isn't going to fix all of that. The idiot would be ones that thought all these other ones were doing a good job. Its the reason we are here, but let's be honest... Americans failed.

Its all relative, meaning I think people have a break from the complete lunatics just for a short bit. Relatively speaking probably will go in the right direction, but I seriously doubt this country can be saved. Enjoy the break.

Besides.... who else you got? (I don't, which is why I don't vote.... I don't think anyone can save it)

No one. And he doesn’t want anyone either. He’d rather whine and complain about everything and everyone. Probably why he took the Mod job. Gives em plenty of opportunities to b*****!

It hard to compare current conditions to someone expectations that have never existed. It the same thing when socialist argue there has never been a "true" socialist government.

There is no one else.

****, if it were so easy... I wouldn't have to deal with nutjobs, trolls, and obvious disruptive behavior on the forum. 🤷‍♂️ I don't think saving this country is going to be easy, matter of fact, I think it might be impossible. I think most of my comments are more of the obvious observations, I do add some simple opinions or my guesses from time to time.

I understand what he is saying on one level, but at the end of day... I think people are just glad to maybe have a break.

As far the Orange man, I didn't use to care for him much at all. However, he has grown on me over the last 10 years. He is definitely the adult in the room and maybe the only adult in the room at this point, that doesn't mean he isn't wrong on something. Americans have failed so bad over the last 30+ years that Trump is now the adult in the room.

That's the point, there isn't anyone else to get.

Trump is the best the world can offer at this point because YOU (like me) have failed. Its not their fault, its your fault... but people never want to accept blame. We failed.

Lol. No please do 😂

Vice President Kamala Harris, with just days left in office, assured staff that she would not "go quietly into the night" as she added her signature to a desk drawer in her ceremonial office.
"And I’m not going to go through the laundry list of all of our accomplishments. We know what they are. But I will tell you that everyone here has so much to be proud of, and our work is not done," Harris said. "And as you all know me, because we have spent long hours, long days, and months and years together, it is not my nature to go quietly into the night."
Kamala tagged government property?

I don't support these people. I vote against them local and national. When both sides want bigger govt, more spending, less freedom, etc there's little I can do.

It's rather more than that. On paper and in purpose, I consider these appointments and president a generational improvement, not just better than the last (Biden), and much better equipped than Trump's first term to purge anachronistic bureaucrats with conflicting agendas. No usurpers in FBI, CIA, DNI, State, JCS, etc. that consumed so much of his first term. Most may not remember that some, like 'Trumper' Lindsey Graham, were his opposition. With one of the singularly greatest electoral and popular vote comeback wins in American history; he doesn't have fight that internecine battle again.

Globally, the left has been taking it up the electoral arse as have their media lackeys; they simply couldn't rig this one. They couldn't stop his election, smear him enough with the vilest propaganda, nor put him in prison with Kafkaesque frame-ups or 'novel', unconstitutional lawfare. Or successfully encourage his assassination.

This is nothing like the 1st term, or any other in modern history.

Me either, I feel I did my part (short version without getting into details) on a little stage but the honest answer is I FAILED. We all failed. What remains? Trump. If he fails to right the ship, which I suspect he won't accept on the edges (meaning medium/long-term stability) than what else is there? We're circling the bottom of the toilet right now.

Enjoy the break, and I understand what you are saying.... these people think everything will be fine. I actually don't think most of them believe that... hopefully we all just get a little fresh air for a bit.

If Trump can get a few of these real nuts and dangerous people to pay, I would be happy. I don't expect him to solve this country's long-term issues.... not sure that is possible.

EXCLUSIVE: Insiders Reveal 'deeply sad' Kamala Feels Betrayed By Biden and is Warring With Everyone... as she's hit by devastating news about her future

When Kamala Harris presided over the Congressional certification of the electoral college votes on January 6, naming Donald J. Trump the winner of the 2024 contest, she adopted the stance of the righteous stateswoman, stoically restoring the norms that her opponent once sought to crush.

That's how many in the mainstream media framed it anyway. Numerous left-leaning outlets fell over themselves praising her generosity of spirit after such a hard-fought, and distinctly nasty, race.

But in the days since Kamala 'the traditionalist' has faded into the background as a different version of the soon-to-be ex-Vice President has, maybe for the first time, emerged unvarnished.

The post-election Kamala appears far different than the laughing, glowing, smiling 'Momala' that traversed the country appealing for votes on a campaign of 'Joy.'

Could it be that the real Harris has finally broken through – and is breaking traditions and scything through social niceties?

Unlike previous VPs, she did not extend to Vice President-elect JD Vance and wife Usha an invitation for a formal sit-down at the vice president's official residence – the US Naval Observatory in DC – a break with a long-held courtesy.

Daily Mail polling of registered voters released this week showed she is hemorrhaging support, with her favorability rating dropping 16 percentage points since late December among Democrats. Her standing among independents and Republicans hovers at historic lows.

Beside failing to acknowledge any Democrats at Carter's funeral, her interactions with First Lady Jill Biden have become increasing uncomfortable. It's no secret the two women loathe each other. Jill has never forgiven Harris for accusing Joe, during a Democratic primary debate in 2019, of opposing federal desegregation policies.

It's not just incoming administration members who have found themselves on the wrong side of Harris's mean streak. She is visibly on the outs with her own team. (She is pictured with Doug on January 7).

'The postelection rapport among the Bidens and Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, in private settings has at times been frosty,' sources told the Wall Street Journal on January 3.

In recent days, Harris has reportedly complained to close allies that she's disappointed that Biden has claimed in interviews that he could have won the 2024 election if he hadn't dropped out of the race.

Harris is said to have expressed a 'deep sadness' over her loss and those close to her believe Biden's dubious contention that he would have won shows the 'one-sided loyalty' of their relationship.

This all paints a very gloomy picture of the outgoing VP, but she has seemingly been followed by a dark cloud for her entire political career.

What is there to say no about?
Don’t know, not a lawyer. I imagine there might be a challenge to this.

Edit: Operating from the standpoint that courts have said Universities have to make athletes “employees”, I can see where their scholarship plus some level of base pay would account for satisfying that requirement. However, when it comes to NIL itself, that seems like it relates only to the individuals with contracts to pay them for their specific name, image and likeness is how I’m reading that. Is a ladies soccer player going to receive equal NIL payments to, say, Nico Iamaleava? That’s where I thought a challenge might arise.

She thinks she would have done better than Biden, but she is upset at Biden for thinking he would have done better?

I said in July that the REAL power were given the numbers in July and she was either trailing Biden, and in some cases significantly worse than Biden. Which is why I said the switch didn't make much sense.

The only one that was polling close enough to get to a tight enough race to run the steal was Big Mike and even Big Mike was running behind the Orange.

Yep it's time for VN to pretend (again) that they're being replaced by competent leaders in 3 days.
I don't know how it is gonna turn out, but I like the group coming in more than I like the group going out.

I have to say, as depressing as I found the administration of Trump 1.0, Trump 2.0 is putting together, on the whole, a decent staff. Caveat, of course, that they are all swamp creatures so use of the descriptor "decent" is relative.

Biden Commutes 2,500 Crack Sentences — as Pot Offenders wait to see if he will fulfill promise to free them

WASHINGTON — President Biden on Friday commuted the sentences of nearly 2,500 federal inmates convicted of crack cocaine offenses — as roughly the same number of marijuana prisoners await word on whether he will honor his campaign pledge to free them.

The White House didn’t say whether the latest clemency recipients would be released immediately or if their sentences would merely be shortened — as was the case with many similar grants under former President Barack Obama.

“Today, I am commuting the sentences of nearly 2,500 people convicted of non-violent drug offenses who are serving disproportionately long sentences compared to the sentences they would receive today under current law, policy, and practice,” said Biden, 82.

“With this action, I have now issued more individual pardons and commutations than any president in U.S. [sic] history. Today’s clemency action provides relief for individuals who received lengthy sentences based on discredited distinctions between crack and powder cocaine, as well as outdated sentencing enhancements for drug crimes.”

Cherish the last few days of this administration my good PF brethren. It’s really sad to see all of these competent leaders on their way out of the door. A toast to groovy times @evillawyer and @luthervol !!
A passage in the book I am currently reading resonated - ".........but to him it was not really a surprise, but the starkest confirmation of his total disillusionment with human decency and the ultimate proof of the sway that irrationality held over the human race."

Cheers!!
