Biden looks to have federal government Provide Lawyers For Migrants at Border

The Biden administration aims to spend millions of dollars to cover the cost of lawyers for migrants who have illegally entered the country, a prospect that has infuriated immigration restrictionists.

President Joe Biden proposed in his immigration plan released this week that Congress should make available $15 million to cover the costs of private lawyers for “families and vulnerable individuals,” with another $23 million to cover legal orientation programs administered by the Justice Department. The proposal, first outlined in Biden's fiscal year 2022 budget, is the first time that an administration has proposed covering such an expense, and the White House has not shared additional information.

Yep, Biden has gone officially stupid as a new born duck with this idea. Hell, they're not suppose to be here in America in the first place you stupid moron. Give me the millions of dollars since you just want to spend more money for the fun of it. What a moron leader the libs voted in.

This is an investment for the dems - they just want the country as a whole to pay the costs.

I think a lot of rental companies sold off portions their fleet during COVID, now we have the chip shortage so they can't get new cars. I'm not going to look for a link, but my understanding is that's part of the rental car problem.
We are having problems booking rental cars at arrival airports on business travel. I have never seen this in 30+ years of business travel.

Regarding the eviction moratorium expiration that is the leftist „outrage du jour“ for today…..is the moratorium EVER supposed to expire or is that yet another permanent exception to the rule of law? Any other contractual agreements we can dispense with? (As the left also tries to cancel student debt). I really don’t want to finish paying off my mortgage you know. And a free boat would be nice. My gosh but these people are sick

Dont know how this will play out if they try again: CDC had no authority to impose nationwide eviction moratorium, 6th Circuit rules

Agreed. No where in the Constitution does ANY federal agency get the right to do what remains a state prerogative. This is clearly not interstate commerce
From what I've read, if Congress gets involved, this decision wouldn't apply a moratorium like the 1st congressional moratorium on properties backed by FHA loans, but it would apply to the blanket CDC moratorium (and maybe only in that circuit). From what I've seen people can get around the CDC moratorium if the lease is expired.

Edit: I think @McDad keeps up with this stuff. He may know more than me.

An eviction moratorium is essentially confiscation of private property. One party had property to rent/lease and the other agreed to payments in return for the right to live there. If the government says the renter can skip payments, then the government for all practical purposes seized without compensation rental property because the owner is deprived of income.

I was talking to someone at work who had a friend visiting Hawaii, they wound up renting a UHaul truck because there were no rental cars when they arrived. She went to Austin for a family trip and a standard car was $400 for the weekend. That had come down from $600 when she looked earlier.

I used the rental car shortage as an excuse to rent an expensive sports car because it wasn't much more per day than a Camry.

Been reading a lot of Mike Rowe's posts recently. I've always liked the guy and believe he's probably the most intellectually honest human beings on this planet, not to mentioned very level headed and as sharp as anyone out there.

With that said I think he may be the best choice out there for public office. I know he'd be reluctant to do it but that makes him all the more appealing.

Ive noticed that SUVs and (especially) trucks have become hard to rent. But for whatever reason cars haven't been affected.
GM shut down their truck production due to chip shortage...Our rental company tried to get us to "upgrade" to a truck a couple times recently...told them no...1 not comfortable or convenient on long drives and 2 my insurance doesn't cover truck rentals for some reason

I have no idea. I sincerely wish I knew. I have searched for information but it seems there is little agreed upon.

Why does the moratorium need to be extended if less than 10% of the money set aside to help people has been used? If there's a true rent crisis why isn't anyone taking the money?
