If Whitmer wins re-election, then I think she’s for sure running in 2024. But beyond that, there are no obvious candidates other than Harris. I guess Jared Polis could run if he is re-elected in Colorado.

I think the states are in charge of administering the payments. The few people I'm aware of that have tried this have all had to file forms with the State of TN.

They've managed a really nice current passport backlog. The military took back security clearance work after DC screwed that up to well over a million backlog (before Trump was elected). You are probably right, but that was not the argument when the other guys were holding power. The real point is the DC and state bureaucracies are accountable to no one. It's the bureaucracy and the political tourists (electees and appointees who really aren't in control) - sorta like Joe and the fake steering wheel.

I can live, somewhat, with incompetent executive leadership as it gets rolled over in parts (not enough), but at least it has to go thru a chain of the people's represntatives. Not good, but at least another layer. I will never accept the "Deep State", ie the bureaucracy like the EPA and CDC and others as we witness legislating. Not to mention the "leaks" to form narrative.
