On Tuesday afternoon, employees from the City of McAllen began pitching khaki-colored tents similar to ones used by Border Patrol in their detention facilities known as TOPS. The employees also put up a white tent with a sign from the Mercedes Fire Department.

They “cut cost” by keeping the premiums the same but just printing more money out of thin air that we don’t have and saddling future generations with more debt due to government waste. Covid wasn't Trump's fault unless you can fault him for not knowing what the Chinese were doing and nuking them before they could screw up - a little hellfire would have nipped covid in the Wuhan lab bud. But covid is a complex issue not to be resolved in short order, so Trump got the blame because he was president ... Thats the entire point. He didn't do anything to cause it, therefor he didn't do anything to fix it. Just like gas prices. Its all about supply and demand, which the President doesn't control.

Didn't stop you from condemning Trump for the same stuff though. How about raking some corporate types over the coals for really bad short term decisions leading up to the supply problems - those weren't all at the hands of government policy, but pay for no play stimulus was and is. Congress controls the money and the controlling interest in that is in the house where dims ruled.

Prices are falling because new home starts are stalling due to affordability. This will make the cost of housing rise further. But yes, it's all under control now.

Or it will fix people in place. If population isn't increasing, then theoretically the need for homes shouldn't be increasing like it is. Time to stop, take stock, and figure out WTH is going on. Maybe actually fix some of the societal problems that are driving migration - like education, jobs, and ending job killing government incentives and policies.

Again. Why exactly are we absorbing people from other countries who come here illegally instead of turning them around at the border? Rules are not rules without enforcement or with selective enforcement; and according to a lot of people, trespass (at least some places) is a crime.

The drugs flowing over the border are leading to an uptick in fentanyl deaths, and experts are split about how to solve it.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency has called fentanyl the “primary driver” of the record 92,183 drug overdose deaths in 2020. Many drug dealers use fentanyl to make money and smuggle it through the southern border mixed with other drugs like heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine to make them more potent — and more deadly — according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency.

The trafficking of fentanyl has gotten even worse in 2021. Border officials seized nearly 2,400 more pounds of fentanyl from January to April 2021 than during the same period in 2020.

Border patrol officials do not have the resources or officers to handle the influx, Marguerite Telford, director of communications for the Center for Immigration Studies, told the DCNF.

“Officers right now are taken off the line to take care of UACs(unaccompanied children) and family units, and it becomes much easier for those carrying drugs to enter the country,” Telford said.

Lawsuit: Biden’s DHS Hiding Crimes Committed by Released Migrants

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is failing to disclose crimes, if any, committed by migrants that the administration has released into the United States interior, a newly filed lawsuit alleges.

After taking office in January, Biden ended the Remain in Mexico program, which had proven remarkably effective in eliminating the Catch and Release policy whereby border crossers are apprehended and subsequently released into the U.S. interior while awaiting their asylum hearings.

Biden announced in February that his DHS, with the help of the United Nations, would start releasing about 25,600 migrants enrolled in the program into the U.S. interior. Breitbart News exclusively reported that the migrants are being released in Brownsville and El Paso, Texas, as well as San Diego, California.

On Wednesday, the government watchdog group Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against DHS for allegedly failing to disclose the number of Remain in Mexico migrants who went on to commit crimes after the agency released them into the U.S. interior.

According to the lawsuit, Judicial Watch had first requested the information on March 18. DHS officials responded to the request on April 5 confirming that they had received it.

If you recall--and I'm sure you don't because you have the memory of a goldfish--I waded into this debate because people were saddling Joe with the rise in lumber prices at the start of his administration. No one pointed to anything he had done to cause that. Nevertheless, it was Joe's fault. If that's the case, then the fall in lumber prices back down to historical norms needs to be credited to Joe. At least it would be if you were being consistent. But I know that ain't your thang.

I wonder how much of an increase those that don’t qualify received? The subsidy they speak of is the amount those people are overcharged.
