I had some errands to run & just got home. I was listening to a local talk radio station while I was out & about. They had somebody call into the station to tell us NOT to buy an electric car. He said he has one & just to replace the battery on some of these cars cost around $16,000 dollars. He said these batteries will cost like $13,000 to replace & $2,000 -$3,000 dollars to pay someone at the dealership to put the replacement battery back in & hook all that back up . He said he knew someone that had to turn his car back into the dealership because he couldn't afford the cost of batteries when one needs that done. This is not even talking about the cost of the car itself.

Interesting as my wife's personal BCBS plan went up $60 between last month & this month. Yep, crushing it!

This applies to people who make less than 200 percent of the national poverty level and maxes out at 399 percent.

I know I am gonna sound like a jackass here but 400 percent is about 50k for a single person and 100k for a family with 3 kids. I get the max is 8.5 of income but 100k gross with a family of 3 does not leave a ton of extra income. You are netting about 75k and probably have about 6k in monthly expenses. Doesn’t leave any money to invest for retirement…..which is probably their plan.
