Me too and thats fine, but I'm not sure why some have to bring up something else all the time. If you don't like something, just say it, no need to conflate it with something else other than to minimize it.

The problem is where do you start.
It’s whataboutism to bring up the riots when someone talks about January 6th. However if you called the riots mostly peaceful protests then you have no standing on January 6th.

Consistency would be anyone breaking the law should be punished and anyone throwing things like bricks at law enforcement should be met with deadly force.

My view that the lady killed on January 6th died because she was trying to break through a barricaded door and caused her own death was very unpopular. But it’s consistent with my view that people throwing bricks at cops in Chicago should have also been shot.

Did the commit 9/11? No, but they did harbor Al Qaeda and allow the hijackers to be trained by Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. You can argue they didn’t provide actual terrorists but they didn’t have a problem having them trained within their nation by a known terrorist organization.

The U.S. has agreed to provide humanitarian aid to a desperately poor Afghanistan on the brink of an economic disaster, while refusing to give political recognition to the country's new Taliban rulers, the Taliban said Sunday.

The statement came at the end of the first direct talks between the former foes since the chaotic withdrawal of U.S. troops at the end of August.

There was no immediate comment from the U.S. on the weekend meeting.

That's a bit misleading because Trump was always right at 43 %, give or take 2 points. That was his ceiling because only a combination of the cult and diehard GOPers (i.e. never a Dem) would vote for or support him.

Biden has at least some cross over possibilities with more moderate GOPers. Not that they'd ever vote for him, or just not vote for Trump. But in terms of approval Biden could manage at least some anonymous, "meh, he's not so bad" nods.
