I guess I should be happy that you are sad because it is an admission that you view teaching as relevant and impactful on society.
I've always seen the irony in the many on the right who degrade the teaching profession out of one side of their mouth while bemoaning the negative effects of the educational system on society out of the other side.
I'm guessing you guys can't fully appreciate that irony.
But no need to be sad. When I had the honor and privilege of teaching kids, I followed my favorite Einstein quote:
“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of minds to think.”
In fact, it's a poster I always encourage new teachers to place in their classroom.
I have seen many students, many adults, and a whole lot of people in the PF, who knew plenty of facts but could not think their way out of a wet paper bag.
It was never more evident than in my first venture into the 2a thread. I was amazed at the amount of factual knowledge coupled with the complete inability to think.
Einstein had a notoriously poor memory. When asked how it was that he could not know his own phone number, Einstein replied,
"Never memorize something that you can look up.”
Today it is even worse, we are now surrounded by non-thinkers who are only memorizing alternative facts.
Nice court attire. I would have been compelled to come across the court room if she said that about my daughter. Sad thing is she will be hailed as a hero by some.

No need to have a degree battle sparky.Come down from on top junior, there are more degrees hanging in my house than yours, I would believe.
I don’t have a problem with the profession of education, I have problem with so many currently taking up space in it.

We will see. Feminists take a very hard line view of people blaming the victim for rape. Feminists tend to be a vocal demographic in media and politics.
The sh!t show is an allusion,
The gas issue is just a prime example of how you guys are being played.
Bought both gas and groceries yesterday. Used my Kroger card - gave me .50 off per gallon. Sweet.Good grief you are insufferably ignorant, and haven't bought groceries or anything for that matter in the last few months. Let me guess at your particular store prices are actually lower for your family
Isn’t it wonderful to be comfortable enough to shrug off 15 to 20% price rises on basic economic necessities? I am sure everyone else, especially those living paycheck to paycheck also enjoys that same luxury.Bought both gas and groceries yesterday. Used my Kroger card - gave me .50 off per gallon. Sweet.
I would love for gas prices to go down.
But on my list of priorities, it's just not at the top.
