At this point, even if we had competent leadership, we still have no immediate solutions. This won't be like turning on a light switch. Keystone is years away. Venezuela hasn't been able to upgrade or maintain their capacity since the sanctions on them. From what I understand, they are at least 2 years behind from getting back up to pre-sanctions production.

A woman going through a pregnancy and having to recover and nurse and care for a child... that is one thing. But two grown men that as far as I know didn't actually go through child birth (the science may have changed) and these two bums take advantage of a govt loophole.

Did no one else not see this coming? This country has flushed our industrial capacity and energy resources out the window and it will take a long time to claw it all back. In the meantime, we double down on stupid and import from our alleged enemies.

Simple math of Keystone producing 830K daily or buying 670K from Russia. We are at the mercy of other countries leverage.

If it means employing an "enemy of my enemy is my friend" approach, that is where I was mainly going with that.

I'll fall just short of a Reign of Terror approach, but not by much at this point.
