Devos was confirmed with Pence breaking the tie. First time in history. Many republicans just voted to confirm what they knew to be a poorly qualified person.

For my money's worth, Devos is the single worst cabinet pick of the Trump Administration, and that is really saying something. She may be the single worst cabinet pick of any Administration in history, but at least in recent memory.

The devastation our public schools - which are already in a hot mess - will suffer as a result will be far-reaching.

Meh it won't be understood. We just hired a president who was a reality TV host and business mogul. It shouldn't be surprising that he would appoint someone who is under qualified.

Quite a bit, actually, especially in what amounts as a veritable uncontested political environment at the moment.

Should Trump take the Supreme Court, your "checks and balances" will essentially be worthless. The GOP has too much invested in Trump, morally and politically. It's all or nothing.

She is against individualised learning. That may not mean anything to fat rich Republican senators, but to children who have special needs, it is everything.

Get off your high horse and understand every Senator that goes into office gets rich. Find out how much Harry Reid was worth going into office and how much he's worth now.
