Pressure? You better believe it...

Make no mistake, this is a must win.
Every game is at this point. We fumbled a huge opportunity away against Arky. Could have been in the drivers seat to Atlanta with mulligans open against Bama and UGA. Now we have to win against either. A loss tonight means we have to win both to make it to the CFP.

Also, I hate Florida and want them to lose in every sport.

Actually, OU and Arky have A LOT to do with this game because they've put on film examples of teams with good talent being able to control our offense. Teams are going to look at what worked and they're going to use it.

I don't think anyone thinks Arky had more talent on D than we had on O. What Arky DID have and Heupel said in his presser was a "different look than we thought" on defense which was very similar to the look OU showed on defense and which kept our offense from dominating the game.

So, yes, the film from the last two games..... the only two teams we've played with a pulse..... where our offense didn't work matters.

You are right, but you are wasting your time explaining this to him. Right now, he's desperately trying to come up with something to counter your post.

Pressure is huge.

Napier wins and he's safe a while and gets a recruiting boone.

Heupel loses and this team will be effectively out of the playoffs barring a late season win over a ranked team.

To clarify could the Vols make the playoffs with a loss today - possibly but that would imply they MUST win every game the rest of the season.

Is it though?

The only reason this game is getting hype because of the fanbase hatred for Florida.

It’s just another game to the players.

I wouldn't say it's just another game for the players, but there's no question the hype comes from the frothing at the mouth fans on sites like this who take the game personally.

The fact is that is pressure in any Power 4 conference matchup, and that is only ratcheted up a bit against traditional rivals. But to suggest that this is a must win with regard to Josh's job is absurd.

They should be feeling pressure on theirselves after that performance last week. I look for them to come out with intensity after a week a focused practice. If we dont see that, there may be some lockerroom problems or something. Hope to see us with a chip on our shoulder and playing to kill whats in front of us

That reminds me of an expression on an old T-shirt my dear old departed Daddy used to have about Tennessee football.

The “just another game” mantra is garbage and anyone who played competitive sports knows it. After last week this game makes or breaks our season. If we lose tonight all of the hype and preseason goals set by fans AND players and coaches is dead in the water. You better believe everyone in that locker room knows it just as we do.

AD isn't even thinking about firing his man Heup after 1 or two losses this season. Man, we we were up to #4 before Arky and still #8. Heup is safer than anyone in the SEC outside of Kirby.
Who said he was getting fired this season? Every bad loss matters though. Arkansas was a bad loss. Florida would be even worse. He most certainly could find his seat “warm” by the end of the season and that doesn’t mean he’s in any jeopardy of losing his job. No coach in the SEC is immune to this.

Loss for CJH tonight will continue to highlight the inept offense . . . And will likely mean 4 losses in a row. If they can’t beat UF at home . . . They won’t beat Bama or UGA on the road.

Anyone who thinks 4 losses in a row - should that happen - won’t lead to massive pressure is simply wrong.

Assistants will be fired at year end / Nico will be under a microscope / etc.
Nico shouldn't be under anything. Get the kid an OL and let him sling it. Take the handcuffs off. He is going to make some mistakes but I'd rather lose taking risks than running it up the middle
