I wouldn't say it's just another game for the players, but there's no question the hype comes from the frothing at the mouth fans on sites like this who take the game personally.

I'm sure it's not just another game after last week. I am sure it makes them want this one even more.

I think people are confusing ‘pressure’ with being on the hot seat. No one believes Heupel is anywhere close to being on the hot seat. However, just because your job isn’t in jeopardy doesn’t mean there’s no pressure. You’re playing at home against a rival you’ve beaten only twice in the past nineteen years. On paper, you’re clearly the better team. Plus, you’re coming off a bitterly disappointing loss, and another loss tonight would essentially kill your chances of making the playoffs. So yes, there’s certainly some pressure associated with the game tonight.

Yeah, it quickly starts to get warm with a loas tonight. No excuse with the roster we have and the time he and his staff has had to develop players. The OL development is atrocious.

We do not need to be in the top 25 at all. Many many teams way better than we are. We are mediocre at best

So far, looks like nothing has changed. Tennessee plays scared against UF (and pretty much anyone else) when there’s anything of significance on the line. It’s bewildering. Even if they somehow pull out a win, the way we consistently play down to our opponents - and absolutely no-show against the Gators, undermines confidence that this program is going to trend any higher than an occasional 9-win season sprinkled within a sea of 7-5 type performances.
