Well, this all sounds good. I remember Morley saying something similar too a few years ago. I dont think that anything came of it.

Morley said more guys would be coming from the Miami area which isnt really the same....

Theyre silently commited....they know theyre coming to UT just havent said anything publicly

The way players seem to like the publicity from announcing their commitments at the Army All-American game, I'm surprised more don't do this.

Hopefully we have some good surprises Saturday.

I would love to get an army all-american this year..
this has got to be the first year in a while we havent got a commit from one..
we had a TON last year..

but who are the possibilities that could choose UT at that game.. Q. Coples?? That Robinson guy??

Coples has a top 4 and we aren't in it. Robinson has a final 2 and we aren't in it. We may get goosed in this AAA game.

Im not buying any of this. Preston's just hoping, but the way guys are dropping us really scares me about the way this class ends up.

If he's "just hoping," why would he make a detailed statement saying that two guys are silent commits?

Why wouldn't he just say he thinks the Vols are in the hunt for a lot of great players? Or that he knows some guys who have a heavy interest in UT?

I don't see why Bailey would have any reason to just make this up.

Really upset to hear that we aren't in Coples top 4, he was the last prospect that gave me any sense of optimism about this signing class.

I have not followed recruiting as close as many of you on this board. I know we usually have very, very good classes. It seems that Bama is everywhere while we are stagnant. Is there an obvious reason for this? Do we usually not have many verbals this early?
Is Bammers apparent success because of $aban's media attention?

Saban is promising the moon more than likely... and folks from Baton Rouge to Miami know he's a very persuasive liar.

He's probably leaving all of them with the impression that they'll start next year.

Several of them probably can start next year.

So, are these silent commits announcing at the Army AA game this weekend? If not, I'm going to assume that either we are not talking about head turners or the whole thing is baloney.

Yes, because we know that if the recruit is not playing in the AA game then he is not highly thought of. I mean, obviously.

no UTK commits listed in either AA game (Army or ESPN). And yeah, most highly rated guys get named to the AA rosters even if they do not decide to suit up and play. Keep fiddling while Rome burns if you like.

Without the meaningless title of HS All-American none of our recruits will be any good. Oh, no. What should we do now?

ric, do you want to go back to the Bill Battle days of giving preference to unrated Tennessee kids who bleed orange? That did not work very well last time the Vols tried it and back then there were no pesky scholarship limits nor strict enforcement of recruiting violations.
