Don't be a smart@ss. He was asking for the forum's opinions, not what MSNBC or the Princeton Review said.

couldn't be worse than UT's Humanities building compared to what the Hill looks like now.

One of the worst looking building I've seen period. Other than that large eye sore UTK is pretty nice other than the fact it needs more grass and less concrete.

This was back in 2001, but Chapel Hill passed an ordinance that forbid the Fire Department from displaying American flags or support for NYFD/NYPD.

I don't know if that has since been overturned, but it made me sick.

Sounds like an urban myth to me. Got a link?

FWIW, I always thought Milligan's campus was breathtaking. Seeger Chapel overlooked the entire campus, a creek ran right through campus, great views of Buffalo Mountain (hence our nickname of Buffaloes) and the rest of the Smokies. Of course, our campus only had like 5 streets total so it was quite small. Now that they've built a Convocation/Theatre Centre is overtakes the whole campus and takes most the beauty away.

Duke's campus seems to have no central theme or idea. Oddly placed architecture and buildings out of nowhere make it feel ridiculous. The business school is one of the most absurd looking buildings in college-dom.

The central theme at Duke is "fake gothic" and it's ridiculous since the campus wasn't constructed until the 1920s. UNC's campus (while much larger) has a more familiar colonial theme and is way more beautiful. Some of the buildings on UNC's main quad are actually over 200 years old.

We need pictures.

Btw I really liked Clemsons when I went there for AAU, but I was only in 8th grade.

The walkway that UT has put in between the Humanities building and Hess is a huge upgrade to aesthetics. Speaking of Hess, it doesn't look so much like an insane asylum anymore... UT is trying to make the campus a little less "70s", and I like where they're going. Neyland's renovations are going to make a huge difference as well.

No link, but I know it was in response to 9/11 and the outburst of American flags that was shown. The city council was afraid of offending the Muslims in the area and "inciting potential religious/racial confrontations".

Believe me if you want, or not... just putting it out there.

Yeah, our campus looks better than it did when I was there (91-95). I really think it is pretty good considering it is an urban campus. Has anyone seen Ohio State? Now that is ultra urban.

The beautification efforts are paying dividends.
I certaintly don't think Florida's campus is any better than ours, only bigger.

Hess looks like a hotel. Definitely the nicest dorm.

I had W&M on my first list. I think it's better than UR.

Personally, I'd flip those two but I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Think VMI is pretty impressive, as well.

Dead on about VCU though, avoid that place like the plauge.
