Pass-blocking for a running back has become more of a lost art over the years, but Wright was one of the best pass-protecting backs in the country last season. He was charged with just three pressures (no sacks) across 58 pass-blocking snaps in 2023. Running backs who struggle in pass protection typically lack an element of strength and a willingness to seek out contact, which is certainly not the case for Wright.
In Jaylen Wright, the Dolphins have a back who can convert those tough short-yardage situations. While he is not the biggest back, he is strong and consistently able to keep the legs churning through contact. He will not shy away from opposing defenders; he’s willing to lower the shoulder and play with a level of physicality the Dolphins desperately need more of.
Wright immediately steps in as the team's clear best pass-blocking running back. No quarterback had a quicker average time to throw than Tua Tagovailoa’s 2.34 seconds, but the offense suffered at times because it could not hold up long enough in pass protection.
Every NFL team will have their depth tested at some point in the season. At the very least, Jaylen Wright should be able to carve out a third-down role in the offense to begin the season.

If he can improve his between the tackles running he will be a star. I think he is a better version of Alvin Kamara.

lol tell me you’ve never watch him play without telling me.

We run between the tackles over 90% of the time and he was elite
What you or I see in a college game is not necessarily what NFL scouts see and what NFL teams want from the player. Wright is a very patient runner between the tackles and that may hinder him at the pro level as the game speed is higher. He will have to improve that. Can he? Heck yes and I think he will be a top 10 RB within 2 years, barring injury.

officially inks his rookie agreement with the organization on Thursday. Wright's four-year deal is worth $4,780,020 that comes with a signing bonus of $760,020. He's the No. 3 running back in the Dolphins' organization, though he appears to be a part of their long-term plans at the position, as current running back Raheem Mostert just turned 32 years old.

I love Wright and he's definitely faster but Alvin Kamara is a RB and Slot WR in one. Wright had 30 catches his entire career here. Kamara is a way more versatile player and very possibly would've been a Heisman finalist in Heupel's offense

Ya, his opportunity will be interesting. Mostert should be the default starter this season, but he's getting older and doesn't have the best injury history. Achane is still a complete unknown in my book. He's an absolute burner when he's on the field, but he is tiny and also can't stay healthy. Wright could be the starting back by next year if he plays well with Achane as a change of pace guy.

Challenge accepted. I haven't been to a stadium for the past four years now. Always like live games, but these days, things haven't been enticing enough for me and the ole gal to make the trips.

No one is better at responding to someone in a way that’s 100% disassociated from what they said than you are.

You are truly an elite poster

What’s funny about him being a change of pace guy is that he’s nearly as fast as Achane! And runs harder, which is what you’re getting at.

Easy. It's harder for RBs in this age to play long enough to get into the HOF. The only current RB in the league who is a likely HOFer right now is Derrick Henry. That's the only one I can think of anyway

Gore, Peterson, and McCoy all have a shot at it. It’s not been that long since they played
