These are also submitted by the congressmen and senators. If Corker wanted it to happen all he would have to do is pick up the phone.

The only thing that sets the Pride apart from the rest is UT football. And if UT football ain't winning then their just another band!

If I were elected president, I would invite the POTSB and the Million $$ Band.

I'd have the POTSB form the T at the entrance to the inauguration, and we'd all sing Rocky Top together.

I'd have the Million $$ Band executed.

Sad but true. The Pride is great but there are a lot of great bands out there. That said, I wonder if it has more to do with size/sheer numbers than anything else. If you cut the Pride you can add more bands. Also, I'd say a lot of bands are being rotated - not just us. We made it the first time and really that's the only one that matters - no one pays attention to the second term inauguration.

I was lucky enough to go up there for Reagan's 2nd inauguration with the Pride. That year was the year of one of the most epic cold spells the south and Washington ever had (UT closed classes because it was -20. Friends of mine bought a keg and just sat it on the front porch since no ice or barrel was needed). We practiced the Pentagon parking lot a day or so before and it was so cold the slide on my trombone froze. In the end they cancelled the parade so they took all the bands and put us in the Capital Center and Reagan came and spoke to us thanking us for coming. Some tv reporters were interviewing various people and when they talked to the high school kids they were all upset because "they had raised all this money and now we couldnt march". They interviewed a couple of us Pride members and we said "Whoo hoo. Free trip. Lets go party".

Didn't want to go anyway! Can't wait for Eric Berry to meet him over the middle.

Inauguration parade is over rated anyway. We were only thinking about going until something better came along.

Obama was afraid Rod Wilks might come with them and meet him over the middle.

I'd take the Million $$ Band's instruments away and make them walk through the T while we played Rocky Top over and over and over and over and.....

Well, the Pride has been to every one since since LBJ's parade, they have more money, better instruments, and better uniforms. Therefore, not only do they not get to go, in keeping with the them of this Administration, the Pride has to provide the instruments and pay for the HS band to go in their place.

After all, every one has to pay their fair share and every one should be given an opportunity to enjoy the fruits of some one else's labor. Pride members and alumni, you didn't build that band!

I see what you did there, well played!!

I hate it that the Pride wasn't invited but there is no way I will watch Obama's coronation. I mean inauguration.

I would watch reruns of the weather channel first.

Marched Clinton's first inaugural. When we passed the presidential booth, Al Gore pretended to know the words to Rocky Top and got up to sing. Worst part of the day was marching behind the horses. I was able to avoid the shiz, but others weren't so fortunate.

Dobyns-Bennet HS Marching Band.

It'll be a great experience for them.

I'm very jealous of DB. They actually get to do cool things and people actually support them. That said, I despise those of their band that I have met. They are the rudest band I've been around, and usually we all get along pretty well. I'm sure they aren't all like that, but I have not seen it.

The reason being they invited Bethune Cookman University, SC State marching 101, and NCA&T these bands would put the Pride sto hame far better marching bands

It's obvious you know precious little about college marching bands.
