1) This was one hell of a necro
2) The problem is Sousa. As someone who was looking at UT very very hard before deciding on Carson-Newman, He just never took an active interest in me. I was an All-State player in High school, Attended the University of Tennessee Honors Clinic my Freshman and Junior years and yet, I never really got anything from his staff. I didn't receive anything from them when I ditched my audition until about 2-3 weeks later when I had already signed my scholly stuff for Carson-Newman.
Dr. Forrester (the Director at the time at CN) was very active in recruiting me. Getting me in his honors bands, being active in Emailing me (him or the faculty there) and being very flexible with an audition time since the audition day was during All-East Jazz Clinic.
Also, Sousa pissed a lot of people off a few years ago in an interview when he made a comment about relying on "B Students"
