Prince going pro?

from college 3, which was actually shorter than what it is now when he was in college.

basically my point was, when you saw CJ at UT, did you think he'd be playing for the Warriors right now?
Yes, anyone can play with the Warriors.

And that distance doesn't make that big of a difference.

i cant believe im sayin it but i could actually see J.P. gettin picked up in free agency. Maybe a western conference team would pick him up to play defense on kobe, he could actually pose problems for kobe with is hight and athletisism

:lolabove::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol: really pose problems for kobe

Look, im not sayin hes gonna shut him down, but what do teams have to lose. Maybe he could be a defensive specialist kind of like Artest

Tell me you are not comparing CJ Watson's jump shot to the abomination that JP Prince calls a jumpshot. If you are, I outta backhand you across the face out of respect for CJ Watson.

Mr. Prince opportunity for success in the NBA is quintessentially parallel to his free throw percentage.

Minus 50%. :crossfingers:

Let us enjoy his royal reign of recent years and look not forward to his disposition after his...disposition.

I remember thinking Rajon Rondo was garbage when he was at Kentucky due to his lack of a jump shot -- never dreamed he'd make it in the NBA. Look at him now ...

Jump shot and learning to dribble with the right hand. :p

he can't shoot--and that's rather important in basketball, especially pro basketball! And it's a little late to be learning how to shoot, too. But I hope he plays pro ball--if he wants and can--and is successful. I like the guy even if his style of play was a bit aggravating sometimes. He played very big in the NCAA.

JP can definitely be an NBA player. Let's not forget he had shoulder surgery the last two years which kept him from improving his shot. He is remarkably similar to Michael Redd to me in that he has great versatility and skills, but is an average, at best shooter coming out of college. Shooting is one of the easier things to improve. I'm actually expecting JP to have a better chance at an NBA career than Chism, or anyone else on the team.

Great comparison. I think Prince is also remarkably similar to Ray Allen, Mark Price, and Jason Kapono.

Read the my entire post and check Redd's NBA Draft profile before exposing your ignorance once again.

Or here, just follow this link:

Why We Will Never Know As Much As We Think We Know About a Draft Pick: A Lesson From the Success of Michael Redd - Swish Appeal

It's getting embarrassing showing how little you know about the game.

Yea. You're right. I think this description of Michael Redd is basically identical to JP Prince.

HoopsHype - NBA Players - Michael Redd

I especially liked this:
Great scorer... One of the best shooters in the league... A really big threat beyond the arc... Beautiful shooting mechanic... Very quick release... Doesn't pass the ball much... Hardly hit by injuries recently... No longer a star.

For a second, I thought they were describing Prince, but shockingly, it was Michael Redd.

READ MY POST AGAIN

It was clearly about Redd when he came out of college, COLLEGE, not a description of him now.

I was comparing JP to Redd when he was coming out of Ohio State.

Good lord.

J.P.Prince in the NBA? In Europe?

I am glad that UT, as a program, is further along than its fan base is at evaluating talent.

Fans, please do a little catch-up. This is embaressing. Go to a D League game, and tell me J.P. belongs.

If you think JP will turn out anything like Michael Redd, you shouldn't be lecturing people about basketball.

I see you are basically conceding the argument.....almost. It's still obvious you lack the ability or the will to exercise reading comprehension when responding to my post. Let me break it down very slowly for you then.

1-JP is a very similar player to Redd at the same point in their careers.

2-JP's shooting problems are affected by his inability to improve the skill because of his shoulder surgeries in the past two off seasons.

3-Shooting is one of the easiest things to improve in a player.

4-Redd, a very similar player to JP, showed how true this can be.

5-JP doesn't need to turn himself into as good a shooter as Redd to become an NBA regular because he possess a number of NBA quality skills

Is it that difficult to understand?

I could see JP playing for a team like Golden State or the Suns. A team that gets up and down the court and runs a lot.

Prince's shot is what it is. If he hasn't improved in his years in college and high school, he isn't going to develop into some sharp shooter in the NBA; therefore, the Michael Redd comparison is still an absolute joke.

Hmm, so the Michael Redd comparison is an absolute joke because JP's shot "is what it is since high school and college".............despite the fact that Michael Redd came into the NBA after not improving an average shot from high school and college that I'm sure "was what it was"? In other words, Michael Redd can have a crappy shot after high school and college, then improve it in his first year of the NBA, but it's not possible for JP to do the same?

OK, at some point this has to sink in for you, seriously.

If Stacy Augmon and his ugly shot can have a 16 year NBA career as a 2 guard, there's a place for JP Prince.

Stacey Augmon to JP Prince= good comparison.

Michael Redd to JP Prince= moron comparison.

I'm surprised Augmon didn't elect to become a three point shooting champion since it's so easy to improve your shot as Unimane suggests.
