Pro-Obama thread..list his good ideas, strategies, attributes, etc.

how can you be misleading when quoting someone? I'm sure you have the same problems with every newspaper on earth.

The e-mail that was floating around is misleading when it leads the reader to believe that those words came out of Barack Obama's mouth as they use "I" to start each sentence then we later learn that he didn't say those things. Snopes.com also says that part of that was completely made up and no one said it so that part is false, therefore it is false and misleading. Also like emain pointed out about the Muslim quote, it was taken way out of context to mean something completely different than Obama meant.

my actual point was that I don't see you railing the nightly news or national papers when they quote everyone out of context.

I also didn't plan to point this out until he posted again wondering why no one had responded to post #239. If it's the policies that a person doesn't like than fair game but I don't like reading outright lies about someone to smear their character, that goes for McCain too. I don't want that to happen to either guy. When papers and news shows misquote people they should be called out for it even if I don't like the result of it. I'll change my mind about who to vote for if I have to, I just want the truth to base my decision on. Where is it, seems everyone has an agenda in the news buisness.

One of the reasons I try to find entire interviews or transcripts before I pass too much judgment.

Back to the original thread request, I can't believe I forgot this one (and I'm serious):

Obama knows how to use a computer. More than that, actually, he understands the power of technology in its many forms and the power it gives "the people" to voice their opinions and shape policy. An Obama presidency could give citizens much more access to what politicians are actually doing, and actually allow those who want to be involved to have an impact on what gets done. Moreso than any president in my lifetime at least.

Sorry, didn't know you were responsible for putting BO's quotes in context. Must be busy these days.

Oh my god, he didn't wear a flag lapel pin and his hand wasn't on his heart, and did you hear what Jeremiah Wright said?

This is all old news, and the lapel pin and national anthem crap are completely non-issues anyways.

For you they are.

For you they are.

For most they are, at least most people that realize that wearing a lapel pin does not make you a patriot, and that the one picture that they can find of Barack Obama without his hand on his heart is just that, one picture.

I think the whole problem with Obama and the lapel pin isn't that he wouldn't wear it, it's that he made it a point to let everyone know he wouldn't wear it.

Did he make a point of it or did he have to explain it afterwards? It's not like he went around and said hey everybody, can you guess what's missing from my attire? Yep, I didn't wear that flag pin, let me tell you why. I have a feeling it was more of him responding to the e-mail and questions about it.

That's exactly what it was. He never said a word until people started bitching about it.

The question I have is why? Why not wear one? Why make a point of not wearing one? It's just not as simple as you make it sound. And most people I know and speak with are concerned about such things. Maybe in your circle not so much.

Do you wear one? I don't think he made a point of not wearing one, he just chose not to, and when people started in with all their crap about him not wearing it he addressed the issue.

I don't think it matters one way or the other but it certainly doesn't help with the anti-American image some think he has, but then again I'm sure him wearing a flag pin will not change their minds.

All the time. If you haven't guessed I'm kinda into America and public service.

My point is.. if he is the great uniter, why does he do so many things that divide?
