Pro-Obama thread..list his good ideas, strategies, attributes, etc.

Back to the original thread request, I can't believe I forgot this one (and I'm serious):

Obama knows how to use a computer. More than that, actually, he understands the power of technology in its many forms and the power it gives "the people" to voice their opinions and shape policy. An Obama presidency could give citizens much more access to what politicians are actually doing, and actually allow those who want to be involved to have an impact on what gets done. Moreso than any president in my lifetime at least.

For those who actually care:

HisSpace
The Amazing Money Machine

No response to this yet. I wonder why.

A board full of luddites? Convenient oversight? A pro-oligopoly board?

I'll respond.

what a bunch of crap.

if being shot down over north Vietnam isn't a viable credential for being President, knowing how to use paypal shouldn't be either.

I started this thread at night for fear that starting it in prime viewing hours would cause such an eruption in posting, that the site would crash. Anyway, I expect by the time I open this tomorrow that I will be greeted with some wonderful insight. Don't hold back Obamaniacs!
You'll get none here. I'd rather Condie run.

I agree. In fact, I didn't read any evidence in the article that indicated that Obama DOES use the web in ways described. So his campaign has used the web to great effect, so what? That doesn't meant that Obama personally does, or even has the know-how.

All the time. If you haven't guessed I'm kinda into America and public service.

My point is.. if he is the great uniter, why does he do so many things that divide?

As you have never mentioned this to me, I don't know how I would have guessed. I appreciate the condescending attitude though. :good!:

As for dividing, I think that the hammering of the American public with patriotism (like we have seen for the last 6 or 7 years, is more divisive than anything Barack Obama has done. Then again, maybe that is just me.

I read the HisSpace article and it is full of words like "what one could imagine is" and "what might be" etc.

Other than the online fireside chat and a few other proposals, I didn't see any concrete proposals. There were lots of "imagine if" ideas from the author though.

I hate to admit I have been there, but my impression when done was that the author(s) believe utopia can be achieved and that government can provide many answers that I would expect our markets or populace to decide.

President Obama Continues Hectic Victory Tour

Barack Obama has long been his party's presumptive nominee. Now he's becoming its presumptuous nominee.

Fresh from his presidential-style world tour, during which foreign leaders and American generals lined up to show him affection, Obama settled down to some presidential-style business in Washington yesterday. He ordered up a teleconference with the (current president's) Treasury secretary, granted an audience to the Pakistani prime minister and had his staff arrange for the chairman of the Federal Reserve to give him a briefing. Then, he went up to Capitol Hill to be adored by House Democrats in a presidential-style pep rally.

Along the way, he traveled in a bubble more insulating than the actual president's. Traffic was shut down for him as he zoomed about town in a long, presidential-style motorcade, while the public and most of the press were kept in the dark about his activities, which included a fundraiser at the Mayflower where donors paid $10,000 or more to have photos taken with him. His schedule for the day, announced Monday night, would have made Dick Cheney envious:

11:00 a.m.: En route TBA.

12:05 p.m.: En route TBA.

1:45 p.m.: En route TBA.

2:55 p.m.: En route TBA.

5:20 p.m.: En route TBA.

The 5:20 TBA turned out to be his adoration session with lawmakers in the Cannon Caucus Room, where even committee chairmen arrived early, as if for the State of the Union. Capitol Police cleared the halls -- just as they do for the actual president. The Secret Service hustled him in through a side door -- just as they do for the actual president.

Inside, according to a witness, he told the House members, "This is the moment . . . that the world is waiting for," adding: "I have become a symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions."

As he marches toward Inauguration Day (Election Day is but a milestone on that path), Obama's biggest challenger may not be Republican John McCain but rather his own hubris.
