The first couple of quotes in the opening post are interesting. It would be a lively debate on who was/is the better coach, The Bear or Saban. They are, in my opinion, two of the greatest college football coaches in the history of the game. Of course, I would rank Neyland up there too. But I just don't see how you can rate any of the three above the other two, considering it was really 3 distinct eras of football.
On a side note, I think it is best to not trash talk about Tennessee football until we start winning again. Yes, we have a rich tradition, but really, it looks bad when you have to say "oh ya, well, we used to be good. I mean, we had a season that we were unscored upon 7 or 8 decades ago." Our time is coming again, be patient.
