For federal elections, Trump should try and make voting take place only on federal election day (singular day no more early voting) and by paper ballots. Very conservative position and Constitututional. States can have their state and local election corrupted with mail in ballots and drop boxes if they so choose.

No, the election for President according to the US Constitution is supposed to happen on one day, first Tuesday in Nov, not over weeks. Some states have shown no concern in preventing voting fraud, unwilling to clear voter rolls, having more votes than voters, drop box and mail in cheating, etc. If states are unwilling to clean up their act, Trump should make states vote by paper ballots on that one day for voting.

As far as I am concerned, voting for President and US Congress is a "federal" election, hence first Tuesday in Nov is a federal election. States can have their election on other days and allow for all the cheating they want on "state" and "local" elections..

If you federalize the election, which is what one poster on here essentially recommended, there is NO need for the EC since all 50 states would be under the same rules.....

States run the elections. That's why the EC exists since states run them differently. It goes all the way back to 3/5 compromise.

They can have their own days and own rules for state and local elections but when in comes to voting for President and US Congress they follow strict federal rules to prevent cheating.

Im fine with that. Then eliminate the EC since the rationale for it is gone since the rules are the exact same in all 50 states....

...and states have allowed for cheating in elections. We saw Trump cheated out of the 2020 election for President. So you are for unfair elections where voters lose confidence in voting?

The FEC can run elections that involve voting for Pres and US Congress and states run their own election at state and local elections.

If you are going to federalize it, then the EC has to go. I dont think the Rs want that...

There was actual cheating taking place, GA EC said there was in IN GA. Closing your eyes to it does not make it go away.

States have to clean their act up when it comes to election. Voting machines connected to the internet is insane. Even Musk today said in the near future with advanced AI, AI can tap into voting machines and change votes, altering elections.

FEC can over see voting for Presidential and US congressional elections.

It (partially) exists the way it does because Northerners didnt want to count black people and Southerners didnt want them to vote....

It existed so states would have a voice in selection process and how they chose to do that process. Once you federalize it, you take that vital key out.

Nonsense. Whether the states' voting procedures are 100% consistent or not is totally unrelated to the purpose, and continued necessity, of the EC.

Ridiculous…having a standard for elections isnt federalization. There are already a bevy of fed election laws.
