i would be highly disappointed if we went to any other conference. yes our schedule is tough year in and year out. but don't u enjoy watchin the vols play a good team like bama, florida, georgia, sometimes arkansas, lsu, and auburn? i mean we have 4 or 5 HUGE games a year, and south carolina will be good w/ spurrier there. i love the competition, i don't wanna go to some crappy conference where u might play one or two good teams all year. wake forrest, give me a break, we would beat them there's no doubt in my mind.

I'd rather lose 6 games in a tradition filled conferance than win 12 in a wuss-bag conference ie., any conference that isn't the SEC.

If UT wants to win the SEC again all they must do is follow the lead of UGA and UF. I think we all know what must be done.

VHB, are you crazy! The way the "sheep" are celebrating (see the lazy4163 thread) a season of losing three games, not beating a single team that finished in the top ten, and going to a second rate bowl, I bet we give the head coach a big raise and extend his contract for life! To suggest otherwise is heresy.

I knew last year, after we lost 6 games, that expectations would be so low for this year, that a 8-9 win season would become the sucess threshold for the Fulmerites. Maybe, we are back where we belong. I can still remember the late Battle and early Major years when even going to the Liberty Bowl was good enough.:cray:

I'd rather see Vanderbilt pushed to C-USA and Louisville, VA Tech, or even Georgia Tech (re)join the SEC

milo just can't stand the thought of the SEC getting better than it already is. The only reason the SEC is better is because conferences like the Pac Ten apparently use the same teams for their academic bowls as they do for football.

I think Miami will be tough to deal with next year.....Not so sure about FSU

What?! Are you serious? The Miami program is more bombed out and depleted than Iraq. After having argueably the worst season in the history of Thug U, they don't even have a new head coach yet. :whistling:

Well they didn't leave because they were worried about the competition, if that's what you claim. They won a national championship with Dodd at the helm. That's more than quite a few SEC teams can claim.

Georgia Tech's last SEC Championship (also won the National Championship) was in 1952. They left the SEC after the 1963 season. They were very competitive but won no more SEC Championships in the following 11 seasons. 1966 was Dodd's last season as coach.
