the objective was to run the ball. We did that well. We have all hated on Thornton. He has potential. He just has dropped a bunch of catches and he drops footballs centered to his chest. Why not just throw him some screens to get him warmed up ?? We want him to be great.

Yup. Protected the ball, made good decisions, and made the plays when he absolutely had to. Cant ask more of a QB

Happy that Thorton was able to contribute out wide. But he runs kinda funny...like he is more upright than he should be with the ball in his hands.

I think that’s a catch.

Going off that picture, it looks like a catch. Watching the play back and other angles, he never had control and a foot down.

Regardless....it was a huge play in TNs favor

LOVED seeing Thornton contribute.

One thing I don’t understand…they’ve been trying to force him to play slot. He was an outside WR at Oregon. We have Squirrel in the Slot and need someone to replace Bru on the outside. It made COMPLETE sense to put him outside. And yet…tonight was the first time they tried it. And it worked.

Takes a while to adjust to a new system. Much rather have a player start the year slowly and then finish strong than starting quickly and then regressing

I thought Heupel's comments post game would differ. "running game was good, defense was good, passing game was good enough."

He may have played well statistically but still is not seeing too many open plays.

Milton has played 2 weeks in a row. You can't put either game on him. Dumb penalties killed us last week and nearly killed us this week too. We've got to clean that up before Mizzu.
