I don’t agree with most of this. We couldn’t run at all and didn’t you see the graphic that we had 21 runs to 6 passes early? This team has to throw to open the run. That has been obvious from game 1. The onside kick call was there. Just because it didn’t work that time doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good call. Finally, if Pope hangs onto his fumble and we score to make it 23-10 in no way is the game over.

No evidence to me that the team has quit. Defense looked to be playing hard have a lot of young players and gave at least a credible performance. Offense not quitting looked totally confused have no idea what to do or how to do it. This is one Helton if I was head coach he would be out today as OC. I would be willing to try anyone else. Helton doesn't look up to the job. OL coach not getting it done either. These coaches under the microscope need to get a lot better quickly or we need to make changes.

I want blame Pruitt for one game. If this continues going forward most of the blame goes to him. He hired these guys running the offense they have to do it right or he has to make changes no other solution. We can't accept what happened last night. Pruitt has to be the leader to correct it now. If that doesn't happen then he is not the right coach for Tennessee.

I'm not expecting miracles, but consistent marked improvement. We are 4 games in, and again looking unprepared. I didn't expect to beat Florida given our history, but I had thought given their background this coaching staff would make us look like we belonged on the same field. The hallmarks of good coaching aren't there....tackling, discipline, effort, and good play calling. These things can keep an overmatched team in a game....we have none of them.

I go back a couple of years....to the A&M game in College Station, and the Oklahoma games. I'm not a Butch fan by any stretch...but when we played those games there was high effort, and good fundamentals. I was not upset, or ashamed after those losses, and saw things to be positive about. I haven't seen anything similar from this staff yet.

I'm afraid we must accept the Administration is no longer serious about football. The last 3 coaching searches prove it. Having somebody they control is much more important than the product on the field. As long as we keep supporting it, that's what we'll get.

Plays were there...even after the easy 14 points in the 1st. Dropped 4th down pass hit Woods-Anderson in the hands, fumble a TD out the end zone by Pope, Guarantano goes out from another cheap shot yet again no call by refs then Chryst fumbles a snap, onside kick 5 Vols on 1 Gator don’t recover it, & fumble 2nd half opening kick off. Ballsy calls in a game you’re supposed to lose anyway...he was sending a message to the players he believes in them and they can make it happen....HE IS TRYING TO MAKE THEM DO IT ON THE FIELD....GOTTA EXECUTE AND MAKE PLAYS BOTTOM LINE!!!

Unfortunately these next few games will tell us as little as the ETSU and UTEP games because we can’t compete with these next 3 teams. Hopefully come SC we will have some things worked out. The next 3 games I want to see us clean up the mistakes. I completely understand the frustration but this is a first time HC with a first time OC. Most of the staff is in their position for the first time. They don’t have all the answers today. I guarantee that no matter what happens on the field Pruitt will be back. Let’s see what happens after we get beaten down these next few weeks. Will we get off the mat and fight at SC or roll over and die? That’ll tell us more than these next 3 games where we are severely overmatched.

Pruitt knows he doesnt have the talent of his previous teams. hes not an idiot. But you dont have to be talented to do your job and hold onto the football or do your job and protect the guy whos trying to hold onto it. Those are execution errors and they cost us the game. I saw it as him knowing that they could have won that game minus the Plethora of mistakes. Florida didnt out athlete us or dominate us, they captialized on our awful execution and errors.

Its articles like this....Pruitt has lost the team...That does not help the team or the university or anything else....I live here in Northeast Alabama I'm about ten minutes from Georgia and about 20 minutes from Tennessee....I listen to lot of Tennessee and Alabama and Georgia football coverage on a radio....Yes a radio....I wanna tell y'all guys something that Coach Pruitt is handling this matter exactly how Saban would have handled it and I think Saban has went on a did a pretty good job running his program...Saban went 6-6 in the regular season his first year at Bama and lost to ULM and if u will go back and fact check....They were some turmoil on that team and Saban dismissed some players....What I'm saying is let this coach...."coach"....and everybody get on board and stay on board and quit jumping off every time we hit a bump....And it would really help if u did not find something like this article on a Big Orange Site for goodness sake....I could understand reading something on a Dawg or Tide site trying to to rub salt in the wound but on a Tennessee site WOW...Come on Vol Nation write encouraging articles....Enough of these discouraging articles....I'm done ranting thanks.....Go Vols....Keep up the great work coach Pruitt....

Recruiting will be fine. Anyone that knows anything about Pruit, knows the man can coach. The problem is that we do not have quality players like Bama, Georgia and even the same caliber as Florida. Let’s give the man time to get his players in the system and rid of those that are to timid to play hard nosed football. We have to stop calling for the coaches head. Not sure what everyone expected for year one, considering the disaster have lived the past ten years. Give Coach a chance people!

We've been rebuilding and rebuilding for for years, so I totally understand why everyone is worn out with it. I'm worn out with it. That said, new coach, young team, what did we really expect this year? Like someone else said, you can't buy an Alabama program. You have to suck it up and put your head down and hope that we're going to get there. It's not going to be this year. It just isn't. And as far as losing fans? You duck out when it's bad? That's on you. But you're not a fan.

Im not sure what the deal is. Being realistic, I knew this team wasnt going to turn into a powerhouse overnight. Its gonna take him a few to build his system. Might as well wait

Lol, gotcha. I caused us to have 5 coaches and 4 ADs in the last decade. Unfortunately I was dead on with LK, DD, and BJ. There is nobody that hopes I'm wrong about JP more than me.

He has to understand that we've heard this before. We waited 2010-2012. Nothing. We waited 2013-2017. Nothing. We can't take another 3 year project unless we know there's progress. If we lost ok. But to give it away in 5 minutes then show panic the have bad play calls doesn't help anything.

Sorry for being late to this party, but does anyone have an INFORMED opinion of our offensive play calling? Playing a big game against UF, would you still think we are playing vanilla and if so, why? Or is Tyson unable to develop a rhythm due to lack of players or lack of experience in his part? Kiffin inherited a pretty shaky team with damaged QB and walk ons on the O line and beat SCjr and nearly upset Bama. Can someone explain how this works?
