Sure you want to go back to running the spread, that is Freeze's offense? In the gun, no fullback etc.
Are you sure?
That's a good question.
Right now we simply do not have the Jimmy's and Joe's to line up and overpower our opponents. So... yes, I'm okay with going back to the spread. BUT I don't think you'll see Tennessee rely on the pass as much as Ole Miss did for at least a couple of years. Freeze was never able to sign an elite running back at OM so his rosters heavily favored the pass with Donte Moncrief, Laquan Treadwell, Evan Ingram, Van Jefferson, and AJ Brown but they didn't REALLY start slinging it around until they got Chad Kelly.
Most of these offensive gurus adapt their systems over time. For example, go back to what Freeze did at Arkansas State and you'll see that he ran it more than he threw it and his quarterback lead the team in carries both years. At Ole Miss, the number of runs by the quarterback steadily decreased from Freeze's first year to his last and the run
ass ratio went from favoring the run to favoring the pass, mostly due to signing Kelly.
All that being said, with Freeze I do think we could expect to see a spread offense but most importantly I think we'd see an offense that is catered to our personnel, whatever it may be. If we were to get Jalen Hurts, I could see Freeze doing things similar to what he did at Arkansas State. With Guarantano, we'd probably see something similar to what we saw him do with Bo Wallace. With Bailey, we might see him sling it around like Chad Kelly... but who knows? Freeze has never had a Ty Chandler or Eric Gray to work with. His best RBs at Ole Miss were Akeem Judd or Jaylen Walton. Maybe we see something like what Clemson is doing or maybe it'll look more like what Auburn is doing. Not sure, but I'd trust Freeze and the other excellent coaches on Tennessee's staff to put together a system that works.
