Agree. Dyke's comment was something to the effect that 'Tennessee fans were crazy that were calling for a change.'I like Jimmy Dykes but he is an absolute sheep for the SEC and it's not uncommon for coaches/former coaches to stick up for one another.

These national guys have no idea about the dynamics at play inside a program and the fan base, and too often make remarks by only looking at wins & losses, IMO.
Again, he has no idea about the dynamics at each individual school, or how a coach has/has not endeared himself to the fan base.I'd take the opinions of those that have actually worked in collegiate sports over those that act like they know just because they give money. He may not the actual details but he can generalize a lot better than any on this board.

Spending a few minutes talking to a coach before you broadcast a game doesn't exactly give one the ability to have 'their finger on the pulse' of a program.
That being said, you can take the opinions of whomever you choose to.
I'll agree to disagree and move on.He can see a lot of other things. He can see the attendance, he can see the NCAA issues, he can see the original roster problems, etc. All things that you can see. However, he was actually in the coaching shoes and inside athletic departments. So, just because he is not inside this particular department, he can make an intelligent argument.
Your argument is like me acting like I know what's ACTUALLY wrong with my car just because I drive it all the time but a mechanic of 20 years doesn't give a decent ballpark diagnosis without going in depth.
Oh look, more unrealistic expectations.
Why? We have one of the most experienced lineups in the nation AND two first team All-SEC players. Unrealistic? We have well over 20,000 seats and you think this is unrealistic? Really?
Be a true fan and put some pressure on this Purdue transplant. We deserve nothing less than a Sweet 16 berth. It is our God-given right to have such.
You don't think an Elite 8 this year is unrealistic? I truly believe we can get to the Sweet 16 this year if everything goes our way but I can't see us going any farther than that.

1.) The number of chairs has zero correlation to talent of players.
2.) Yes, two All-SEC players, but 2 players does not make a full team. So, unless others step up consistently, having those 2 doesn't equal wins. Example, all those games where the 4 starters scored in double figures and the 5 others scored nothing. Not a great recipe for success.
Realistically what I'm hearing is Iowa has been on a losing streak, we have been winning, UMass does not belong at a 6 seed. I think we win two and can beat Dukie, based on Virginia win and our drilling of Virginia. When former Vandy players and coach are pretty much predicting at least two wins as much as we dislike one another, ALL the marbles may be on the line for Coach Martin.
