Why would he be a resident of CA? He's an adult residing in Tennessee.Yeah, I am guessing he still pays California income tax and if not transferring to Californian he would probably pay income tax in both states. I believe after 2 years he could have dropped the cali residency and had no income tax this next year if he had stayed. That in of itself would have been 200-300k pay increase. Heck it possibly might have been the same assuming he could drop cali. That is one big benefit in Tennessee not having a state income tax.
- KSTATE modI'll come out and say that I don't expect Avery Johnson to leave Kansas State as to not alarm anyone. He isn't wired that way to begin with, takes a lot of pride in what he's attempting to do for his home state and the timing would be bad for all involved. With that being said, the Nico Iamaleavasaga in Knoxville will have a ripple effect. And like Pete Nakos of On3 said, it will create a scenario in which a lot of other P4 quarterbacks gets raises so to speak because other teams work to nail them down even further with Tennessee lurking. My expectation is that the Vols will shake the bushes and see if anything is there with Johnson, and I don't expect he or his camp to be receptive. But they might get a little more coin out of it.
I'm seriously asking. SO if he's residing in Tennessee as a student, he would still be considered a resident of his last/home state?may be because he is a student
