How does the University who had such QB's as (Manning, Ainge, Shuler) who is coached by the guy who coached (Leinart, Palmer) and has an offensive coordinator who developed (Brees & Orton) having such a hard time finding an elite QB that can take over the reigns??? Every QB mentioned is in the NFL or has had NFL stints and I am sure I forgot about a few.

It just blows my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh and add to it....you get to play everyday against a NFL defensive scheme being coached by a NFL legend

I mean maybe I am missing something..but that looks like a good sell to me.

We're coming off a 5-7 season bro. And our coaching staff haven't won a game yet.

I think this is the worst year for it 1. not many elite qb's 2. no visual representation of what UT will actually look like on offense (I know we can say look at SC, but still that doesn't cut it) 3. O-line questions 4. wr/te questions I think come 2011 or 2012 we will see a marked improvement in offensive recruits, heck 2010 might even be a big year if we can look like we know what we're doing this year

Oh and I know we were terrible last year and all that. To me I still think it is an easy sell. The staff that went 5-7 is gone.

The kids haven't seen the product on the field yet. It will take some success on the field to really skyrocket our recruiting. They are selling a product that no one has seen yet.

BOTH of our systems are still unproven at this school and at this level. If we succeed on the field this year, recruiting in '11 will be MUCH easier. I would imagine its hard for a kid to "believe" in an unproven product when he has many proven on the field products to choose from. That said, I also dont think our staff particularly thinks ANY of the QB's in this class can get us where we need to be....so they are only pursuing a few.

resumes can only show so much when you dont have product to go with it then its gonna take a little while longer.

My guess is a combination of 5-7, a questionable receivers corps, no wins on the field for the new staff (despite past success), and the fact that coming in to a bone-dry QB pool isn't nearly as attractive to recruits as we would like to believe.

Their still unproven. Do you honestly believe that if it came down to the coaches that a prospect is gonna pick a staff that hasn't been in place for more than a year over USC and Pete Carroll. They have to prove it on the field to get to the top for prospects.

Not ONE player in the 2010 class has signed a NLI. wait until Feb. before anyone jumps off a bridge. UT will have a quality QB in this class. BTW...what difference does rankings mean anyway???? Stephens was #11 and JC was a top 5. They have really helped????

Look at the top 10 QB's from the class of 2005. Sanchez is the only one that has done anything in college.

Just relax and see what happens. Just because these kids have committed, does not mean they are not still looking around.........

You don't often find QB's that are still floating around their decision by NSD.

You have kids that switch their commitments all the time. Nu'keese did it this year. Chris Simms did it to UT. It does happen. Not saying it will happen on signing day, but their are still 8 months until then....lots can happen. What if UT wins 9 /10 games JC has a pretty good year. That will get alot of attention from committed qb's.

JMO!

...and the staff is a year or two behind on the 2010 recruits. Everyone else had a head start recruiting them.

As was said, hopefully the staff will make something big happen between now and NSD

Our staff DOES NOT believe there is an ELITE quarterback in this class as of right now. There may be a couple emerge this fall, or more, but as of this moment they do not believe there is one.

That in itself makes it diffcult to get one... you are picking someone you don't have a lot of faith in....

That's why I said QB's...RBs, WRs, etc can change late in the game. QB's don't often decommit from what I've seen.

Didn't Ainge manage to get us to a SECCG? Isn't he making money on an NFL roster? Stop with the Ainge-hate.

Twice, actually.

And on topic. Some people just take what they hear and see as gospel and zone out the rest. Could be that we won't even need a QB for 2010.

I agree with everything but us not needing a QB for 2010. We definitely need a QB added on to the roster.
